I'd like to get revenge on some teams that beat us last like Purdue Penn St Texas UNC Oregon Cal UCLA USC (and west coast trips are always fun!) We had a USC series coming up in 2021 & 2022 but I never hear about it so Hamilton probably chickened out of it...
And I'd like to play some teams we've never played like Illinois the Arizonas Boise Michigan St
Glad to see games vs teams like WV BYU Neb Okla & Pitt coming up

I'd like to see us open in Jerry's World against a Michigan State/michigan or Ohio State type. Maybe Stanford or USC could be fun.

I've always thought we could do a home and away of schools by the river. Washington and Tennessee both only stadiums on river. Id like a game against Arizona St or Arizona in the major heat and the next year let the teams compare a 110 degree desert of dry heat compares to 93 degree day with high humidity. I believe our conditioning would prepare us for both. I'm not a big fan of 2 major programs as one has a long road to to get back in playoffs picture. A game of teams I mentioned I like our chances and get just enough interest from voters of polls for the challenge.

You live in Chicago, right? Most years, Northwestern doesn't do enough for your strength of schedule. Why not choose someone you know beating them will impress Condoleezza and the boys?

Yep, that is why i said it would be awesome for ME. I could actually go to the game.

I didn't realize our OOC games were soooo weak.

Yep, Butch gonna be here for a while boys. 2/3 gimme OOC games plus Ky, Vandy and USCe each year, shoot, that's six feel goods each year.

I like it...UT vs UT, locked in a Highlander-esque battle of storied programs, with the tag line "There can only be one". There sure would be a lot of orange in the stands.

Location possibilities:

- Home & home
- Little Rock, AR (nearly equidistant between the two campuses)
- New Orleans, LA (fun town, higher profile stadium)

If we play Michigan St, me and my girlfriend are no longer on speaking terms. I'm cool with it as long as we win.

Stadium in LR only holds about 54,000.

The below article has some interesting matchups. It also shows with Okla and Oregan coupled with Va Tech last year and Ga Tech this year that Tennessee doesn't fully load up with cup cakes.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ro...e-games-we-would-love-to-see-college-football

Personally, I would swap Penn St with Oklahoma. I wanted to say Ohio St or Syracuse but we have played them in the past couple of decades.

Next I would trade NC for USC. The exposure of the West Coast would be good. That's in addition to playing a traditionally top tier program.

I would like to add, Fla St and Miami would be good teams to schedule. However, as with the above mentioned teams, we've played them kinda recently.

What say ya'll VN'ers? Who would you all swap, change, or would you keep the list as is?

Number 2 on there is stupid, could care less about playing Memphis. Certainly many better matchups I want to see out of conference than that one. GBO!!!

Can't wait till the VOLS come out to play BYU... I think Utah would be a good matchup also. They are doing better than most predicted in the PAC 12.

I'm all for playing Washinton. I love when UT plays PAC 12 teams. In my lifetime, I can remember UT playing UCLA, USC, Oregon, Cal and Washington St. So bring on the Huskies or ASU or even Stanford.

Oh yeah, we played a great game against a Colorado team, to a TIE, that went on to share the NC, that year. Of course, they were in the Big 8, back then

Oklahoma State, USF or UCF (gotta give our boy a warm weather game), I like the BYU idea as well, Stanford, USC or UCLA.

And an epic beatdown to either FAU or FIU.

USF would be FANTASTIC!!!! One of the only stadiums you can have a beer inside. They share the Bucs stadium. Oh yeah and its just down the road

We are playing BYU in a few years. Nebraska is on the schedule in 2026 & 2027. Me personally I would like for us to play Fla State, MI, OSU, Texas, USC, ND or Miami.

I do like the Nebraska game series. Hopefully I'm around when those games happen.

Same here. My goal is to be alive in 2026/2027
