The below article has some interesting matchups. It also shows with Okla and Oregan coupled with Va Tech last year and Ga Tech this year that Tennessee doesn't fully load up with cup cakes.

Personally, I would swap Penn St with Oklahoma. I wanted to say Ohio St or Syracuse but we have played them in the past couple of decades.

Next I would trade NC for USC. The exposure of the West Coast would be good. That's in addition to playing a traditionally top tier program.

I would like to add, Fla St and Miami would be good teams to schedule. However, as with the above mentioned teams, we've played them kinda recently.

What say ya'll VN'ers? Who would you all swap, change, or would you keep the list as is?

I think a Florida Atlantic beatdown would be a fun cupcake game. Although, we would need to schedule it within this next season. Lane doesn't tend to stick around for long.

I'd like to see some Arizona/Arizona St action. BYU OR Boise St. I feel some region OOC would be good for us like BoB was against VT. I'd like to see UNC revisited. Maybe Maryland, UoVa, and definitely Michigan.

Oklahoma State, USF or UCF (gotta give our boy a warm weather game), I like the BYU idea as well, Stanford, USC or UCLA.

And an epic beatdown to either FAU or FIU.

We are playing BYU in a few years. Nebraska is on the schedule in 2026 & 2027. Me personally I would like for us to play Fla State, MI, OSU, Texas, USC, ND or Miami.

I do like the Nebraska game series. Hopefully I'm around when those games happen.

There are 2 schools of thought here.

1. You have "regional" games against VT, WVU, GT, Clemson, UNC, etc. Those may not do much nationally but are still great match-ups IMO.

2. You have "national" games vs. USC, UCLA, Oregon, Neb., Oklahoma, Texas, ND, etc.

I would like for UT to alternate between the 2. I like the OOC games coming up with BYU, Nebraska, & Pitt.

Southern Cal has not been all that and a bag of chips in awhile. In reality, the only folks who really view them as a traditionally top tier program is Southern Cal fans, and anyone like you that likes their band. They might have some good players here and there, but the only top tier group there right now plays horns and drums.

Though a home and home with Penn State might have been interesting 20 years ago, going up there now would feel creepy. I know they are trying to put it behind them, but I could see us walking around looking at athletics buildings wondering how many kids got molested in that one.

Right now my top picks from the other power 5 conferences would be Wisconsin, Arizona State, Florida State, and TCU. And my non power 5 match up would be Boise State before the luster they built up is completely forgotten.

BTW, when did we last play Florida State and Miami? Seems the world has turned a few times since we last saw them.

Northwestern at Soldier Field in Chicago would be awesome for me

You live in Chicago, right? Most years, Northwestern doesn't do enough for your strength of schedule. Why not choose someone you know beating them will impress Condoleezza and the boys?

Home and Home with Southern Cal.

I know USC is planning a huge renovation and that the NFL tidied this dump up but LA Coliseum makes Legion Field seem nice. (Went to the Oregon-USC game back there in 2010 so my review may be a bit outdated).

Last I checked, plenty of other programs do too. The ones at SC are just more likely to be recruited by the porn studios. I am more interested in impressing the selection committee than getting road rash on our tongues.
