Super agent jimmy sexton cue superhero music

Jimmy is a UT grad who was a student equipment manager for the football team (and a roomie of Reggie White's). Seems like he could cut UT some slack and get Freeze there.

I know, I know: he has a fiduciary responsibility to get the best deal for his client that he can. Still.....

And I can’t imagine Little Nick being very friendly toward Hugh. Hugh put the hurt on him.

You could be on target, but my impression of Saban is that he'll do what he thinks is best for his team. And heck, he probably wants to hire anybody who beat him, to get them on HIS sideline as opposed to somebody else's sideline.

Why would Freeze want to go under an Offensive minded HC? Freeze would be forced to run Taggart's system. IMO Pruitt is a better match. Being a young HC, he would do well to be able to focus on the defense while Freeze gets the Offense rocking. @ years and TN is competing for the East and goes 9+ reg season wins and he can grab most any opening and get bigtime bucks.

Tennessee's program makes a lot more money that FSUs. Their last OC made $700K a year. Tennessee can clearly pay a lot more than most schools. If he takes the job, it's because he has been assured he will be taking over when Willie gets the ax.
Tennessee can absolutely afford to. History says that we choose not to.

No way he’d go over there with Taggert. I watched FSU this year about 3 times and they were awful. Taggert is gone this time next year. He’s a bad fit there

Taggart will permanently take the crown as the dumbest P5 coach in the NCAA if he signs his own pink slip by hiring Freeze.
Yeah if Freeze goes to FSU....Taggart is not making the decision...and that would be the writing on the wall for him.

If all these schools have interest in hiring him. It may not be Tennessee's fault. He by being patient can drive up the asking price beyond his true worth.

We need to hire him or move on, we need an oc. There are several good oc out there, I prefer Freeze, but if he doesn't know if he wants to be here get someone who does.

Yep the history of hires has been bad ...but this is CJP first major replacement hire. Freeze holds all the cards , he may not be available to us . He may not be up for a rebuild . There are a lot of maybe's there. The good news is he is not the only guy that can coach . It seems like there are a lot of lines drawn in the sand ...its Freeze or they suck . It may not be Freeze and it may not be a bad hire

Good point 73. I want Freeze but he’s not the only fish in the sea. I’m willing to give whoever it is a fair chance. How he recruits is the most important thing right now. ( IMO). I just pray it isn’t Friend.

So how long has fsu been looking for an OC?
Update from Warchant says FSU is moving quickly and interviewed Freeze this morning, Said that info came from a TN publisher and that Pruitt was in no hurry to fill the OC void, whereas FSU is. Saw the screenshot and didn’t know the rules if I can paste a screenshot from a pay Site??? I didn’t think so. There IS a thread of the screenshot on GoVols247

Also needs to manage his reputation a little.. I’d bet most young coaches don’t enjoy coming to any program and failing miserably bc they were not ready. Coaches don’t like losing no matter how much money. All the while Jimmy bends the AD over a barrel for another over priced loser. Ask Dooley and Lyle about their career prospects these days after Jimmy sold them to Tn as “up and comers.” How many young coaches get another shot after a disastrous season or 3? Fiduciary duty goes much further than $ for an agent. Demand makes the market but how many successful coaches does Sexton have in his client list?

Assuming there was legitimate interest, we had a chance to break the chain with Leach who doesn't use an agent.

FWIW, I didn't think Butch used Sexton when we hired him and that is the only reason his contract has an offset and requires some diligence to find another job.

If Freeze is working us for more money then hell with him. I’m getting tired of it.

Not going to jump to conclusions though. It could be anything.
