$800,000 to be terrible at his job. Dang, I should get into coaching football.
Ive been thinking the same thing lately.
It's not a good profession to raise a family in.

8 years ago I was given a chance to be a GA, but my God, even the coaches at failing programs were pulling 12 hour days 6 days a week.

Paycut? Let's see....

800k at TN for 1 year

Or

700k at SC for 3-4 years? (Not sure on length)

We all know that Pruitt would be fired next year without a doubt if he repeats the same as this year...so Friend left for a more SECURE job in the short term.

"He was earning $800,000 annually as Tennessee's OL coach."

He might have been paid that but I beg to differ as to his earning it.

Yep. That’s definitely an odd way for it to be phrased. You could also take exception to anyone that says what Pruitt “earns”. Hell he’s been paid over 10M over the last 3 years and has what...16 wins? That’s about 750k per win. If you based it off wins he makes more than Saban.

100k pay cut, to stay in a big time job vs get fired, or stay next season and definitely get fired and maybe not even land a big time job.

Smart move!

Well, when you suck at your job you shouldn’t get a raise.

"Don't put it past us to be petty and to have strict interpretations of the contract language"
Yeah, when you refuse a pay cut because of the language of your contract, then why should UT ignore what the contract says?
