This one would be my guess.The other option - Max to Merc is already a done deal and that was Horner's last ace walking out the door and he had nothing left to defend against the firing.
Pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if they're prepping part or all of Red Bull F1 to be sold. Only reason I say it is the ownership is split up. The Thai group owns more than 50% I think. Then there is a European group that owns the rest. Last year when the rumors of internal problems between the team started after Dietrich Mateschitz died supposedly it was the Thai owner that staunchly backed Horner and the European group was on the opposite side.Yes, they will probably try to as much as possible erase any connection to Horner.
