Read through the first two pages of this thread and am too tired to read the rest. What I see missing in the narrative espousing all the honorable traits taught by our coach is the concept of winning being of importance. What I'm reading is that loyalty etc. is what we should expect to which I reply, I agree. However, if the tradition and expectation of winning at what you do is ignored or deemed to be a secondary goal then I say the wrong lessons are being taught. Football, like life itself, is a competition and when competing the goal is to win. Second best isn't and can't be acceptable.

Truly concerned of the names or lack of big names from the list after 2000. A few but not anyone the stands out in the crowd.................. What's the deal. Yes the notables of Clausen======Haynesworth but weren't there more that we should expect.

Not only is this ad embarrassing, it's just stupid. I guarantee I could get 108,000 people to donate $1 each to purchase and sign a full-page ad saying we're ready for a change.

And another thing. So David Moon peels off a few hundies from his investment management business to place a one-page ad in support of Fulmer ... what's in it for him?

Hmm ... is Fulmer a client? How about some of those other former UT players? Or maybe there are some potentials on the team??

Looks like well over 50% of the people on this list had were either players with; position players or just players during CPF's tenure at UT and all have been affected in one way or another by him. As far as the players listed that were players under CPF as a head coach the number drops below 30%.

The total number is fairly impressive and shouldn't be discounted. Some out there may argue that although some of these players did not play for CPF as a head coach that this list could be seen as an indictment against previous head coaches. Where was the open letter of support from former UT players for Buzz Peterson, Johnny Majors or Rod Delmonico?

I am not in any particular camp here but I do know a couple of things... these former players know more about CPF's coaching prowess and qualifications than we will ever know collectively, they played for him, played with him or witnessed his influence on the program first hand. They surely know more about CPF the man than we will ever know.

There's a better chance of me signing a letter like that than there is of seeing Jamal Lewis' name on it.

Great observation :crazy: what difference do those factors make? These were players that supported him before you attached the personal attributes. Let's not attack the credibility of former players because of personal relations or dislike for those players.

There's also a list of former players that have come out saying they have learned more in training camp of the NFL than they ever were taught at Tennessee. Take that for what it's worth.

Oh, please. Overstreet and Peace are on the Fulmer gravy train. They would be less likely to criticize him than Paul Begala would be to attack Hillary Clinton. Their credibility in this matter is nonexistant.

Yeah Larry Slade is no DB guru, no earth shattering news there. To be honest I was amazed we ever got Berry with this guys track record.:snoring:

No but you sure hear more out of that group than any other. As far as the mouth running WR's consider the source. Some of those guys weren't on campus long enough to know what work ethic is.

Work ethic not standing around expecting to have it handed to you. Granted Pat Washington didn't help the situation. Believe me Parker's motivation came after he started seeing $$$.

There are currently 4 teams from the SECE ranked in the AP top 25. Over the course of the season, 5 of the 6 teams have been ranked. Of the 6 teams in the SECE, there is not a single one with a losing record. Since 1992, I don't think there has EVER been a season in which in the month of November, there wasn't a single SECE team with a losing record.

This letter is nothing more than fodder for other SEC teams to point to as evidence that our fan base is growing more like UAT and UAF every year.

It's sad that a small contingent of miscontents can stir the pot during the season. I'm all for people speaking their mind - but timing is everything. The "Fire-Fulmer" minority just look plain silly right now. Being the squeaky wheel during the season does not help the team.
