Former Player's Opinion on Current Program

Florida's DL is likely the youngest in college football, while their OL has 2 sophomore starters, and their sixth OL who rotates in is also a sophomore. Talent and performance is the issue more so than youth.

They have a hell of a lot of talent on that line either way. We're behind in talent and depth. Everyone can blame whomever they want as to why. I've been a Vol fan 30+ years and intend to continue as such until there isn't a school or team.

so we can't blame CDD but it's all CPF fault. You have a valid point, but CPF didn't run those players off. he has done a whole lot more for the program than CDD has or will do if he dosent right this ship.

Yes, fulmer's last couple absolutely sucked. We've seen that pretty clearly.

Vegas is only interested in fabricating stats that glorify fulmer.

Blame them all because they all played some role up until now. DD's the guy in the gap recruiting and coaching us out of the hole. So blame him all you want but for now he's the man in the middle.

The worthless filler players he recruited? How is that not his fault?

I'm ok with him defending Fulmer's past but it gets weary to see "fans" throwing shizz on their own current team.

Do I need to post in a different language or something? I never posted anything about who is starting. Common sense tells you that when 65-70% of the guys on your roster are freshmen and sophomores, you're young.

You'll need cartoon illustrations if okla is going to grasp it.

That's me. All I do is hate on he team while I'm in his very thread defending it. Great point.

Yeah, Terry Fair, a former vol player and NFL player can't be expected to know as much as you.

That's not the point. Terry Fair knows more than everyone on this thread and beyond. But that doesn't necessarily make him right.

His knowledge and experience is what makes his attitude about this team's youth and the coaching changes over the past 4 years all the more mystifying. He has no excuses for not knowing better.

Here's a concept:
we started 2 freshman lb's because why? We have 1 sophomore, and either converts or freshman on the WR corps because why?

Because either our older talent sucks or they don't exist, or they are hurt.

Worthless? Surely you're aware that Donald Langley is the favorite for the Outland Trophy this year. Lennon Creer and Damien Thigpen are in the Heisman race.

Sure Terry played in similar circumstances to understand, wait no he didn't

This is new and frustrating waters for every fan out there. Who sticks around and how they handle us coming out the other side is dependent upon not the team but themselves.

CDD cant make all of our players superstars overnight, it is not the fact that we are getting beat, overpowered, and out manned. it is the fact that we are the the Joke of the SEC because of the product that we put on the field. this team is not ready for the SEC, Tyler Bray and Justin hunter helped mask that for a while, but now we will see what we will look like.

Florida is just as young

...and is much more talented at just about every position, except QB and hasn't been decimated with transfers due to 3 coaching changes in 4 years. Now, with Bray being out, it's a almost even at the QB position.

Here's a concept: that's the point I've been making the entire time. We have no decent upper classmen. Why is that? Because no one recruited any. Nice job making my point.

Stars don't mean a whole heck of a lot when you're playing as many freshmen as we are right now.

Alabama won an NC with a large group of sophomores and freshmen in Saban's 2nd season. I guess someone forgot to tell him they were too young to be good. I think Urban Meyer did the same thing in his 2nd season.

These arguments are fruitless. If people haven't grasped the situation UT is in by now, chances are they aren't going to.

If you're honestly too dumb to understand the difference between our situations and those two, you ought to be banned from this board. You offer absolutely nothing except misinformed, ignorant garbage.

Those comparisons tell me that you are so divorced from reality when looking at the current state of the Tennessee roster that this argument is pointless.

I get that we are young and have suffered a couple of terrible blows in the injury department. It's still hard to stomach that we can't run the ball with a returning OL that was supposed to surprise some people. It's hard to watch our "strong" secondary get run by all night. It's hard to watch our top-rated kickers blade an extra point and shank punts. All in all, we are all very frustrated right now...and in any business, the boss gets blamed. It isn't always right, but that's how it goes.

Sad, but true. It's unbelievable how many people are upset over a loss and act as if it happened in a vacuum with no thought given to what has happened to get us here or what we are trying to do to improve the situation.

I agree with you, I can't figure out why others don't get it. You don't have 2 full time starting LB's unless situation is bad. Aside from
DR we have no WR's other than freshman, that's not normal either. This situation sucks. But people turning on the one man trying to fix it all is silly.

If anyone said our secondary was strong, it was prior to jackson's dismissal.
