Florida -17.5

My heart wants us to win by 30, my head says they're likely to win by that margin.

If our guys go to Gainesville and play a clean game and execute, I could see this being in the 14 point range. In my mind that is best case scenario.

Frankly if we go down there, fight hard on D, hit a couple of the shots we've been missing, and generally look competent that is in-season progress to me.

While I believe Florida will win, the point spread doesn't determine the winner or loser.

The big problem is that there are some here who still won't accept that there is a talent issue up and down that roster. With every new coaching hire, there are people who think that coach will waive his magic wand and everything will change overnight.

What are they saying on Florida sites or do you go there.

It has taken Mullen 3.5 years to get Florida to a point where the team doesn’t physically look smaller, weaker and slower than big time SEC opponents like UGA and Bama. Even though UF lost yesterday, I saw them just as big, just as strong, just as fast as Bama, in some cases more so. In some cases not so. But they were certainly toe-to-toe with the Heavyweight Champ. That wasn’t the case in year 1&2 for Mullen at UF.

Same applies to UT and Huepel. I think it’s going to take some time. Now this doesn’t mean UT can’t come in and have an LSU 2020 type game vs FL where they play their asses off, have some fluky stuff happen, and come out with a win. They certainly can. But I just think at some point, Florida’s bigger, stronger, faster will take over.

Biggest difference is UF went out and got a proven coach in Mullen. So although it took him two years to undo shark boy’s disaster, you knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel. He turned Miss St around so you KNEW he could do it at Florida, especially given his history in the region. Heupel is a big question mark and Tennessee fans are just getting jaded by the constant “be patient, be patient”.

UF wins this game by as many points as they want to.

But there are a few of us that do accept the talent issue.

Wonder when we will ever beat Georgia , Florida and Bama again? I’m 42 years old I quite possibly may never see another win against one of these teams in my lifetime and the average lifespan for a American male is 78.6 years now in 2021. I remember not long ago when this football program was held in such high regard that we were expected to beat Florida and Bama and Georgia every season and we did a few seasons but if we didn’t at least we beat two of them and were expected to compete and be on a level playing field. It’s just sad now those three teams are no longer our rivals and we aren’t viewed that way to them we are just a cupcake to them a 30 point beatdown every season a joke and a laughingstock.

And another huge thing Mullen was able to do is still win the vast majority of 50-50 games in year 1 and 2. Heck, he was 10-3 and 11-2 in those years, which was key because it kept the rabid and insane “win right now!” portion of the fan base off his back while he rebuilt the lines of scrimmage and added depth and talent to the roster.

The positive for UT with Huepel is that he’s way better than Pruitt who was a true disaster of a hire and he knows offense. I think it’s way more complex to rebuild an offense than a defense and it helps to have a coach who knows offense.

If Heupel could go 6-6 or 7-5 and get us a bowl win I think that would ease the masses a little. But he needs to be competing for the East by year 3. With the resources at Tennessee it’s nearly inexcusable not to be.

You will see Tennessee beat Florida, Georgia, and Alabama in your lifetime.

You’ll live long enough to see it happen in the same season

I think we make it a game in the 1st half, 2nd half though we wear down due to lack of depth and backup talent. I can see us covering the +17.5 though.

Lol no. No they won’t. This game has ~49-10 written all over it.

Have to get more depth on the LOS. That combined with qb issues, lack of quality wide outs, and injuries so far are whats going to make this a tough year. That won’t stop people on here from predicting a 10 win season of course

this is an excellent game for live betting. with how we've done in the 1Q, the live should be down at least 5 or 6 points from where the line starts prior to kick. hold our own in the 1H and Florida takes it away in the 2H.

edit: always remember to live bet only during commercial breaks
