Flag stomping?!

I condone ME kicking some ones ass for flag stomping. Or ME taking a ass whipping for trying to stop them.

8188- there is s big difference between getting a broke nose and 7.62 round to the head. I don't know how you can't see that.

But your knuckles are like a 50 cal round.

Either way, you are supporting violence against these people. It's starts with people saying "I wish someone would beat their ass". And then when someone shoots them in the head, everyone acts like they were condoning violence against these people.

Wowzers

I should clarify; comparing the actual real outcomes, i.e. people getting mad and saying someone should stomp someone stomping a flag compared to actual Muslims killing people, yes, I'll agree that part is ridiculous.

But I don't think it's a ridiculous comparison of the principle behind both. Both times someone is getting pissed off at another's practice of free speech and thinks it's should stop.

Ot- but get ready for bad weather tonight. Looks like Texas Oklahoma and Kansas are going to take a beating. Two storms are going to collide.

Yeah, last night wasn't fun. OU was doing their commencement and were doing crap on the fly. They decided to move it from the outdoor stadium to an indoors location about three hours before we were supposed to show up. Then stated "the show will go on" and whatnot during which a funnel cloud formed about three miles away. And here we were trying to keep a few thousand people calm while you can hear the thunder and rain pelting the arena. And the power spikes as the lightning hit the building lol Then they finally said "maybe this isn't a good idea" and called it off. But do you think people left during the lull? Of course not. Let's take pictures and selfies and wait around. I got completely irate with one group after I was informed "I have on high heels and my feet will get wet if I go outside." My comments were probably out of line, but I could care less.

And to top it off, I had to take the back way home since the Interstates were closed and ended up crossing the River Nile after I realized I was in it halfway through. Threw the truck into 4WD and pressed through since I couldn't stop. Luckily it wasn't more than four inches deep (no TWSS) but I felt the tires slipping a bit from the water running out of the drainage ditch. And almost got smacked by an idiot in a Kia that has no concept of "deep water, hydroplane, probably should slow down" as I came to a stop sign.

Good times.

Are you saying Obsessed and others are liars when they claim they'd personally attack these people?

I like Ob and have this feeling he's not going to load up his rifle and start plinking on a few flag walkers just because he felt insulted.

But please, continue using terms like "liar" that tries to inflame the situation. You aren't smart enough to provoke me using terms like that.

Better you than me.

Would your department be liable if those folks waiting around were harmed in a building collapse during bad weather even after you told them to vacate/take cover?

So if someone proceeded to beat the sh## out of someone stomping on a flag, then it would be comparable?

Were they beating them to death?

Way huge difference in someone popping a person in the teeth and taking in rifles to kill in the name of their religion. Don't play the semantics of "violent" behavior. One happens to be where one loses their life. The other where they lose their pride.

Yes, comparing the two is ignorant.

I already clarified, but comparing the responses is silly; comparing the underlying principle about getting pissed off at another's expression of free speech is most definitely comparable.

No. The building we were in is rated as a tornado shelter. And evacuation was, at one point, voluntary. Most waited for the worst to pass, but we had about a half hour window between the two storms last night that people could have left safely. Yet many wanted to dawdle even though they were only going a few blocks.

Yes, I saw it after I posted.

But the level of "violence" is what I have an issue with. I stated in the other thread that people have a right to walk on a flag. I don't have to like it, but it is well within their freedom of speech. They have the right to draw Mohammed if they want and Muslims don't have to like it. But both incidents are well within the Constitutionally protected freedom of speech.

And I knew this whole Garland situation would come up (8188 doesn't disappoint in bringing idiocy to the thread) in comparison although the two situations are drastically different.

It's a Grade A jackass thing to do, but it's their right to do it.

Then again, I'm equally PO'd at the people wearing an American flag as a tank top and screaming USA USA USA while they haven't done anything to protect or ensure the USA (serve in a public position or vote) and can barely name political figures and their claimed platforms.

And for the record, if I saw someone stomping on a UT flag, I'd fight them too.
