Only if Fulmer allows UT to be stuck. Cut bait now. Cut your losses. An interim coach can do this poorly. So UT wouldn't be missing anything. Better off naming Jim Chaney head coach to finish out season.

Why in the world would you believe Fulmer can fix this by cutting bait? This is Fulmer's hire.

We're most likely stuck with Pruitt for one more year at the least, two if he manages 6 wins next year. Fulmer will probably be asked to resign after next season, and the incoming AD will fire Pruitt at the end of 2021 and hire his replacement after the average game day attendance drops to ~58,000.

after this season how many will donate and renew season tickets ? He has to be fired now

Exactly. Just wait till Georgia comes to town next month after we're 1-3 (I'm being generous and counting UTC as a win). Won't surprise me a bit if their fans take over Neyland.

I mostly agree. Pruitt is here this year and next. This program hit a bottom never before seen, yesterday. Pruitt will get a more than fair shot to rectify that disaster.

The worst part of me is that I’m not at all surprised at this. It’s business as usual. Tennessee is Tennessee, and at this point I have no reason to expect anything different.

We are the worst program in the SEC.

No guarantee that pulling the plug fixes anything, but it is a guarantee that it won't get better if we let Captain Cornbread run the show the rest of the season.

That is a complete lack of understanding where we are in terms of finances.

Minus pulling off wins in 2/3 Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and running undefeated through the rest of the other games, I don't know how he builds good will and faith in his abilities at this point.

We were all prepared for losses to teams that are better than us, but none of the fan base was prepared to lose to a team like Georgia State. Especially not in the fashion we did, with a team full of unmotivated players being coached by unmotivated coaches.

Mike Leach should have been the guy to begin with. His offenses are top notch with good defenses. You can make an argument he’s quirky but the man knows how to coach football at freaking WSU, out of all places!

He wanted the job but Fulmer couldn’t make it happen.

As much as I respect Fulmer, I didn’t agree with him hiring Pruitt in the first place.

I was willing to give him a chance just like all the other formal HCs but I already see the writing on the wall.

If he went 8-4 with losses to UGA, Bama, and Fla, I would be satisfied and consider the GS game just a horrible mistake.

I get that, but if you allow JP to remain coach for this season and beyond, the program may very well tank entirely to the point of no return. In the long run, that will hurt finances far more than pulling the plug on him this season.

Maybe, I might feel that way if we were competitive in those losses, and throttled UAB, Chattanooga, and Vandy.

I think he would have to lose to chattanooga for them to even consider firing him this year.

He's dead man walking. It's a matter of when we cut bait. Can we afford financially to do it at the end of year? Can we afford not to do it? They're readjusting already pathetic revenue expectations for the year as we speak

70,000 in the FIRST GAME we served alcohol. Even the booze wasn’t enough to draw the fans
I wasnt there but i was in understanding that alcohol sales are released against BYU. I thought they were using Game 1 as an educational thing for how it will go but no sales. Was i wrong?

That is the only scenario where the majority of your fan base will stay satisfied imo. This loss is unforgivable and if you add to it a loss to Kentucky and/or Vandy(especially Vandy) then this season is a complete failure, because there is no way the team I watched yesterday will even compete with bama, Georgia or the swamp. If an early INT at home to Georgia st got them rattled, imagine what will happen in the swamp!
GBO!!

You are not wrong. The product is on sight but not being sold until the BYU game.
GBO!!
