Finebum is a bum....

Paul has a proven track record of success. He caters to an audience made-up partly of hicks, who evidently begin drinking before lunch. And he purposely says provocative things hoping to incite them to call in and rage over the phone while he smirks at the camera. The more casual viewing audience eats it up. It's like watching some kind of drunken midget demolition derby.

And he's made a lot of money off of doing this, so don't expect him to change. Who knows if he even believes half of what he says.

You are right. He saw Jerry Springer get the redneck American's and ESPN decided to have a sports Springer type show on steroids. Just record it and when any call has a Alabama city just keep Fast forward for that matter all calls. He has a few good interviews but the calls or mostly homer Alabamans that were semi unpaid radio stars in their mind that have followed him to TV.

I usually have it one when I am doing stuff around the house. But I agree with you. 90% of the show is homers calling in saying other regular calls are homers.

I've only been a Vols fan for about 10 years so I have no where near the knowledge most of you have. Can someone please educate me why he hates UT so much?

He doesn't hate UT. It's his alma mater.

He did hate Fulmer but can't say why other than his caller base at the time needed that from him.

Finebaum himself can be entertaining and his callers range from so stupid they're funny to somewhat intelligent, with the majority leaning toward the stupid funny.

It was pretty weAK defense of Jones. I know there's certain guys in Knoxville who will carry a bucket of water for a little crumb of info that they can break. Maybe this was that. Or maybe Griff was just playing the heel to get on Finebaum show. I have a hard time that he really believes what he said although he's owning it on twitter.

Finebaum and other sports writers got burned betting on the Vols last year. He is a UT alum and I've heard him talk them up at times. I hope the Vols, bricks and all, prove all the naysayers wrong. GBO VFL!

If my dog looked like Finebaum, I would shave his butt and teach him to walk backwards.

If you are gonna insult him, make it a good one.

Finebaum is dry, and lets face it he's a dry personality managing an entertainment show so he's got to be inflammatory juicing callers up to entertain. He's either snuggling up to a guest or psychologically tearing down callers, notice he talks one way to callers almost patronizing but to guests especially ex coaches or noted journalists he's cordial usually. His private opinions have little to do with what he says on camera I'd guess.

Honestly, a lot of UT fans and staff DO always make excuses. Let's be real here. I mean our head coach starts excuses before the game is even played.

Let's be real.........you don't know jack! CBJ has nothing to be apologetic for, he has fixed a program that was a train wreck and now all some of the fans can do is nitpick every word or action.........pathetic.

Anyone catch his show this evening? I had the SEC channel on and walked in while he was interviewing Mike Griffith from SECCountry.com. Paul obviously hates IT haha. He really gave Griffith a hard time. BTW Griffith even picked Florida to win this weekend. Basically Mike thought UT's schedule, (3 games in 13 days and wasting a lot of time preparing for GT in the offseason), pending bad weather for the game, and the fact Florida hasn't started 0-2 since the early 70's was the factors that led him to picking Florida. Paul gave him a hard time saying UT fans and staff always make excuses. Led Griffith to fight bavk by saying IT fan base and program doesn't need to make excuses because we are 17-4 in our last 21 games. Paul got a bunch of traction out of that by saying you can't mention the UT program w/o someone bringing up that stat.

It just fired me up! Just wondered if anyone else saw it and what their thoughts were?

Then you have these idiot bama fans like Legend and Larry. They both sound like they are drunk and talk with marbles in their mouth. I need a translator.:eek:lol:

So, when a bunch of has been football players and a Sports commentator.....don't know how to describe Paul Finebaum's actual job description, sooooo, they predict a team to win the east or NC.......... and let's say it doesn't happen......it's UT's fault for making them look bad for predicting a team to win the east that was decimated by injuries? Wow......how absurd......I thought preseason predictions were shots in the dark from a bunch of talking heads. Has anyone noticed that "sports writers" who never played the games are the worst critics? have you ever thought they have some hidden resentment to the very profession they couldn't play? you know what is more weird?.........fans give them that creditability...........wow! Paul Finebaum is a joke along with John from Knoxville.......they are successful because fans agree with their BS.

I did laugh out loud when griff said that 18-4 deal and Paul just stopped dead in his tracks and said "Mike. What does that mean?"

Guarantee that was staged. They are friends and talked about what would need to be said to get some spin going. As always it works on the weak minded people. Get off the edge of your seats.

I saw it. Finebaum was a real prick in that interview. He tried to cover up his turds with sand after the interview, but, how he went after the guy was uncalled for. That being said, I agree about the "three games in thirteen days" meme. Butch should not say such things as it is just making pre-game excuses, and makes the team sound soft.

Our head coach can't say much without getting torched

Agree, my only hope is that CBJ understands that less than .00001 percent of the fans that criticize his every move are douche bags.

Let me say this, has CBJ made some mistakes?......I'm sure he has, but who hasn't? I come from a place where if you don't make mistakes, you are not trying or your setting your expectations too low. CBJ sets his goals very high.......I would expect some of those are not met.......its just the way it is.

PF is an Alabama band wagon $&@&. I don't watch or listen anymore, and I don't suggest that any true Tennessee fan listen either!

No he is not. He rags them too. He does stuff to generate callers and discussion about his show. He gave Tennessee plenty of love the last two seasons.

That's right....sportswriters put UT on "ignore" for the poor showing in 2016. They'll be back when we learn to win consistently. The way the mop flops. Few of their opinions matter much to me anyways.

Some people are afraid to admit the 17-4 is pretty good. 😬

Also one of only 12 P5 schools to win 20 games since 2015.

We can do better, but that’s not bad. It’s progress.

In the 21 games before that, we went 11-10. And the 21 before that? 7-14. Some perspective is nice from time to time.
