The 17-4 stat is meant to emphasize the positive. I’ve admitted that. The games are cherry picked. It is what it is.

I agree with that.
It's the reason why the cutoff was where it was.
I'm trying to understand why it's considered progress since the previous 21 games included the meat of the schedule twice where the later only did once. Which changes the win total substantially.

PF is a redneck wrangler but his question was dead on with Griff.

Haha.... Yeah I guess so. I'm all in though lol. Season ticket holder. Grew up in Big 10 country. When I moved here I really began to enjoy the rivalries and passion in the SEC.

It's nothing more than just "positivity spin"....

Why not just quote our record for the last 2 years...Why stop at the last 21 games? And for the record--why promote that record when 2 of those 4 losses came against two teams we should've beaten easily with Dobbs and crew....USCe and Vandy....

It's stupid publicity and stunts like quoting that record that make me sick to my dang stomach....and the rest of the SEC nation, too!

We are actually 20-8 over the last 2 seasons and 2 games....with enough talent on the field to have beaten OK and Fla in 2015...and aTm, SCe, and Vandy in 2016..

So, we've had good enough talent at UT to actually be 25-3.....and that's just the truth!

Saying we're 17-4 is like saying that you can polish a turd....and most of the people outside of CBJ's Kool-aid sales force recognize sheet for what it is....a pile of painted crap! :salute:

It's a danged embarrassment is what it is....and a shameless, juvenile attempt to control the facts and change the narrative to draw emphasis away from your weaknesses as a coaching staff.....and shows that CBJ is unwilling to grow up and be a man.

And NOBODY is buying that Bullsheet! They see it for what it really is....:salute:

I get the sentiment. I just find it hilarious that stat infuriates folks so. Lol.

20 wins is pretty good too, as I pointed out. Only 11 other P5 schools as mentioned above.

Fact is everyone loses games they shouldn’t. But I’ve said over and over the Vandy losses are inexcusable in my book.

As for talent, I find it hard to separate talent from coaching since the coach gets credit for getting the players here. I agree though, we underachieved last year. No doubt about it.

Nobody is using it as THE measuring stick. Just a fun stat that shows we’ve won a lot of games. It’s probably been a while since we’ve won 17-of-21 regardless of the opponent.

All it really is, is a stat accentuating the positive. I don’t find it to be embarrassing at all. What’s embarrassing is having a thread about replacing the coach during Florida week. IMO.

I'm just pointing out facts. Not notpicking. He makes excuses. Even before games. He did it with GT earlier this year, he's done it with UF already. I appreciate Butch and the job he's done to get us to at least competitive and out of rock bottom. But it's simple. The time for excuses is up. Win the east. That's why you're here.
