Maybe. Did Kentucky go deeper in the tourney than Duke because Duke played Mercer and Kentucky didn't. Great logic. Are you sure UT couldn't have beat Kentucky in the tourney? I will agree, Wichita St matched up better talent wise with Kentucky than we do. Thus my point about having less talent than Wichita St. But to sum up the argument against my original statement that "UT went deeper in the tourney than Wichita ST with less talent"- I am wrong because Wichita St would have gone farther than us but they got beat by Kentucky, who they lost to by 1 point, and Kentucky would surely beat us because they are much better than us, but we have much more talent that Wichita St, who almost beat kentucky with the far inferior talent. Got it.
Marshall would have to slow down on the JUCO recruits if he came here. I am sure that is something that is needed at Wichita State. I knew he took several, but I just noticed that he took at least 5 in the last two classes alone. That is alot. You really can't rely on that many JUCO's to build a high major program. JMO.

He can bring in whoever he wants as long as he wins and gets to another final 4 and gets us a number 1 seed.
You acted like it never happened. When we won games we filled the seats. Simple. Not one program in the country in any of the major sports fills the seats when they are losing. When football starts winning the seats will be filled.
Why's that. He can take whoever. He's develops players nicely when he gets them. He beat us multiple times with JUCOs
I said nothing of beating Kentucky, I said UT went deeper in the tourney(FACT) and has less talent. Wichita St has solid outside shooters, a legit point guard and a NBA first rounder. We had none of those.
Sure. All I am saying is he won't be able to do that just based on JUCO recruiting. Can't do that in a high major conference. He will have to learn to take more high schoolers, and Steve Forbes could help him with that. You can do it at a Wichita State, but I don't believe you can do it at a UT when your roster is a revolving door every two years. And if some want to bring up Cal and one and dones, they are much different than JUCO players.
Not really a fan of Clay Travis but he is spot on! Why isn't he right? We are the 3rd best team in league behind Kentucky and Florida.really, really dumb tweet by the GWU Alum Clay Travis
It's almost as if some people just argue against possible candidates just to prove they're different from everyone else. Marshall would be a slam dunk hire. It's not going to happen, but it would be fantastic.
Gentlemen (and women), we have been through this numerous times over the years. Rumor comes out who the top target will be. Usually a highly sought after coach who brings up a program over a long span. Everyone debates over pros and cons until the latter group gives in and accepts that they'll be ok with this. Then, the inevitable happens: for one reason or another, the coaches stay where they are. Many factors are involved but we assume it is the incompetency of the AD because we've been here before. Truth is: Tennessee basketball doesn't seem welcoming because our passion for winning turns into aggression when it doesn't happen instantly. Let's give whomever the new coach is the benefit of the doubt, and expect greatness but not through hatred. Although the AD gets a lot of ****, they still knocked it out of the park with Butch. Let's not give up hope just yet.
