Finals thread.

It baffles me how much Shaq gets forgotten in the "kobe is awesome omg" discussion. Baffles me.

He can't get to the rim like he used to and he hasn't added the jumper that MJ and Kobe did to compensate for it. He is never going to be the force of nature he was in 2006, and right now he's a horrible jump shooter. If he spends all summer in the gym and adds that outside shot, he'll be better than he ever was. But other than that he's on a steep slope downhill.

Absolutely.

Wade has about 2 or 3 years being a really, really good player.

Lebron is entering the prime of his career. Just in case you didn't know.

That was pandering to a pep rally. The 3 of them won't even be playing for the Heat in 7 years.

Again not sure why centering on me...maybe i'm misreading here

that's all i took it as personally was more playing a crowd.

i think how it was shown (repeatedly) though through the main sports network - as though a serious guarantee (Namath-like would overstate) - was maybe what had some of the effect

(the discussion being why the celtics were able to do the exact same thing it was fine, but the heat's doing so was viewed as horribly wrong)

I'm just saying, no personally attack.

It just kills me that people focus on such petty sh$t.

this. and nobody realizes that, its like when kiffin said he was gonna sing rocky top all night ofter we beat florida, most of us loved that ****

well kiffin's a bit of a different route there (James isn't really a "any news/attention is good news")

yeah i don't think that it should have garnered as much attention as it did

but in this day of national (sports) media, the way it was treated didn't help

...then again we're also living in a world now where if you're famous everyone finds out almost everything you do or say, and on a lesser level even a misthought out twitter or Facebook post can have serious negative repercussions

Not sure there's ever been a more overrated player in American sports than Kobe Bryant.

I hate Kobe, but I have to disagree.

He's a great player in his own right and one of the best to ever lace them up.

He's also the most selfish player to ever lace them up and he in no way shape or form deserves to be mentioned with Jordan/Bird/Magic.

Oh, by the way:

LOL at Dan Gilbert.

Nice, I was wondering how long till someone would bring up his "Cleveland will more championships before Lebron even wins one" angry letter (shakes head)

if that had its own thread here, it should get bumped
