I love Durant, but if we are going to be in this age of blaming superstars for everything game to game, then Durant's game was shying away.
9-19 shooting. Only 8 FT attempts. Two rebounds. Three assists. Lazy defense.
Heat played better D on him tonight. Actually. And 28 points isn't exactly far from having a superstar game
That was ZJC's point. We're in the era of Hero Ball where superstars are supposed to win the game, where the only thing that matters is what you do in the 4th quarter, blah blah blah. That's the standard LeBron has been held to his whole career. By that standard, Durant was soft and weak tonight and didn't get it done when it mattered.
I'm not saying that the standard is fair. I'm saying that's what it is in the ESPN era.
So I have a question.
I understand that Miami, preferably, would rather the series not go back to Oklahoma City (and I'm not overly familiar with the effects long term - if any at all - with cramps regarding basketball players), but with a 3-1 game lead, would there be any benefit to the Heat resting Lebron a little more this next game, if this series were to drag out to a game 6 or 7?

Personally I don't see Spo sitting LeBron. Honestly with more of LeBron's, legacy in the line, even if Spo wanted to sit him, I doubt LeBron would really agree to it. Also I believe they want to shut people up and definitely don't want it going back to OKC
