I don't agree. Heupel Drastically improved Drew lock and created Missouri's new scheme to fit his skillset.Drew Lock made that offense great. It improved every year he was there up to his last season under Dooley. Then he left and it sucked again. UCF’s offense declined in each of Heupel’s first two seasons, then had a bit of an uptick this year, however it aligned with a huge drop in defensive efficiency so overall they were worse.
At utah state, their offensive efficiency was basically unchanged prior to, during, and after his time there.
The offenses at Oklahoma were up and down while he was there and he ended up being fired.

He played against tougher defenses in 2018I don't agree. Heupel Drastically improved Drew lock and created Missouri's new scheme to fit his skillset.

The consistent thing with Heupel is that he coaches up QB talent everywhere he goes and his QBs play well.Their offensive rating was better in Lock’s last season under Dooley than it was under Heupel

By almost every metric Mizzou got worse after Huepel left, even though they returned a senior QB.
The numbers tell the story. If you’re acting like Heupel’s offense isn’t good to great you’re purposely being disingenuous. You can hate the hire all you want and hold your reservations, but the dude knows offense. His staff knows offense. What’s even more interesting, is his scheme is adaptable. I have my reservations about the hire, but unless we had Matt Campbell walking through the door, I don’t think anything is guaranteed. I know games are about to get closer and football at ut is about to be fun to watch again.
I see an offensive guru who’s team has ranked in the top 8 since 2017. I also see a guy who hung 50 on us without blinking an eye. Well see what happens, but when guys are making all SEC, getting heisman votes and players getting drafted in the top of the draft again, the players will come. The numbers tell the story.
