Feldman: Vols will restructure staff and add QB coach

I know it won't happen, but Gruden being on the sidelines for the bowl game can make one think about the possibility of him coming to coach qbs and possibly co-oc. That would be amazing.

Names might be floated, CBJ might even talk to a few people, but in the end, it will be Sheridan-- just like the last replacement was always going to be DeBord. CBJ has yet to stray from his comfort zone, or hire a big name who will challenge or overshadow him, and he's unlikely to start now that the stakes are higher.

I don't like the idea of not having a ST coach, especially since we've seen such vast improvements in that aspect of the game over the last few years.

Why the hell anyone hires an OC that can't tutor a QB is beyond me (it's supposed to be the most important position in an offense, after all...).

Not sure if serious, did you watch UF play offense while he was there?? I think Brantley got worse if that was even possible haha :thud:

Yes, I watched him at UF, was not impressed, he just seems like the type of guy that Butch will hire. Butch is more concerned about loyalty than abilities.

I wondered the same thing when he brought Debord on. Feel like we have 2 O-line coaches and we are currently missing a TE, QB, and ST coach with only one guy to fill those positions. Maybe Debord can move to TEs.

Why? DeBoard was 6th out of 14 in total SEC offense and we lost 4 games leading in the 4th qtr. due to missed FGs and a gassed defense. All games which we should have won with regard to offensive production. We should be in the playoffs and offensive production is not one of the reasons why we aren't there.

Not sure if already posted but it looks like Tennessee is going the route of hiring a QB coach vs another special teams/tight end coach.

Bruce Feldman: With departure of TE/ST coach, #Vols will reconfigure their staff and now looking to add a QB coach, source tells @FOXSports. #Tennessee

Boom worthy.

Has anyone heard GA Mangus' (S Carolina's QB coach) name thrown around? Not sure what the Chump is going to do with him, but he recruits my son's high school/area and seems to connect well with recruits. My son's coaching staff respects him and the times I've met him I've been impressed. I'm pretty sure he was calling plays once Elliot took over as HC (which isn't necessarily a good selling point for him).

Other than USCe's QBs being a disaster and you meeting him a few times...I don't understand your point. Of course other than you meeting him a few times.

I was unaware John Brantley played with UF in 2014. Hmmm, not sure how Roper could make him worse since Ropers only year at UF was 2014.

You weren't impressed with Roper? When he took over they increased their points scored by 9 points and had a very solid rushing attack. He did that with Treon Harris/Driskel lol... Look at the UF offense now

My points were-
1. Has anyone heard of the guy?
2. He's a decent recruiter.
C. He is respected by his peers.
IV. Has anyone heard his name mentioned in any coaching search discussion?

I'll work on a power point presentation with some cool Word Art and various slide transitions in it if that doesn't clear it up. Yeah, I met him so how about just send me a cool story bro.

So amusing to see the armchair coaches think they know more about what is the best for our program that the guys who live it every day and get paid the big bucks to make those decisions.
One thing that is pretty clear is that
Tee is not going to coach at Tn anytime in the near future.

It's called discussing ideas. That's kinda the purpose of these message boards.
