Feldman: Vols will restructure staff and add QB coach

Sheridan isn't the right fit for the job. Dobbs accuracy is not improving and to win a NC he needs to be able to throw consistently. I'd take Tee if he decides to come. He can get a new wife but he will always be a VFL

Sheridan is the right fit because he works well with Dobbs and Guarantano's father is completely comfortable with his son under Sheridan's wing. Is it really necessary to go out and get someone that, more that likely, won't be any more effective than that and quite possibly can't gel with our QB's?

How does/would the departure of Azzani figure into restricting of the staff? CBJ should use this opportunity to upgrade recruiting ability of staff

So amusing to see the armchair coaches think they know more about what is the best for our program that the guys who live it every day and get paid the big bucks to make those decisions.
One thing that is pretty clear is that
Tee is not going to coach at Tn anytime in the near future.

Perfect scenario. Peyton announces retirement and accepts the QB coaching position at Tennessee. Calls it his dream job. Well a guy can dream big can't he?

I figured this would be the direction they would go. DeBord can coach TE, and I think I remember seeing that the ST units were all coached by different coaches, so no need to hire a ST coach.

My question is will Nick Sheridan get a serious look as our full time QB coach?

There are two ways of looking at it. The pros to promoting Sheridan is familiarity to the program and the recruits. The big con I see is for those who wish Dobbs passing numbers were better. Those folks might hope Sheridan follows Elder to EKU, and we somehow bring in a QB guru.

Also, the other question is if other current coaches are going to accept other positions elsewhere. With that in mind, I am not really forming a strong opinion on this quite yet. For now, I am in wait and see mode. Other departures can affect the whole approach.

Personally, I hope we retain as many coaches as possible for continuity's sake. I am not on the push coaches out the door bandwagon. Sometimes, coaches changes backfire. Just hope that those who do go are replaced by coaches who recruit well, and can develop players.

This much I know for sure: Whoever is brought in will cause some here to cry doom and gloom, and a few to do cartwheels. Which will result in a few arguments. Like Butchna and Catbone. It's VolNation.

If Sheridan is the QB coach, I'd like to see them go for Kippy Brown of course, then Terrence Samuel (MSU) or one of the WR coaches from the Briles/Babers coaching tree for WR/Passing game coordinator.

If Sheridan gets the job we won't have an opening unless someone else leaves..he is a graduate assistant
