Per vq and Austin Price.Hunter Johnson told him Sheridan was the qb coach and he was excited for his role on the staff. I dont think anyone expected Butch not to hire him.

So amusing to see the armchair coaches think they know more about what is the best for our program that the guys who live it every day and get paid the big bucks to make those decisions.
One thing that is pretty clear is that
Tee is not going to coach at Tn anytime in the near future.

Quite a stunning and unique position you have here.

Coaches know more than fans offering their opinions on a message board.

Impressive.

I was looking at a Broncos speculation article. It said that Peyton, assuming he retires this year, could end up either at Cleveland, Indy, or here. I don't see Indy being in the mix because Dungy is gone and I think Peyton's allegiance lied with him.

If it were even a real possibility, Peyton would have to be willing to take a huge pay cut. If anyone were willing to do that, I think it'd be him.

The only other problem I see is that Manning's presence would greatly overshadow Jones, and I'm not sure that would be good for chemistry.

This is a good point. I can see how Manning's involvement could a good thing or a not so good thing. Still, if he wants to be here it would be hard to say no.

Jim Irsay drank and smoked and snorted that bridge in Indy...utter clown. Not for cutting Peyton (right move with Luck), but for EVERYTHING after. :glare:

I don't like the idea of not having a ST coach, especially since we've seen such vast improvements in that aspect of the game over the last few years.

Why the hell anyone hires an OC that can't tutor a QB is beyond me (it's supposed to be the most important position in an offense, after all...).

I think a lot of the articles, statements, etc later in the season about how all these different coaches had ST responsibilities were intentionally put out to soften the blow of Elder's eventual departure. They were saying Z has been responsible for this great punt return game, Strip is over kick coverage, etc, etc, basically anyone of these guys could be our ST coordinator.

I don't think an OC always has to be a QB guy. There are plenty of examples of successful OC's that are OL coaches or TE coaches. Fulmer, of course, was OL/OC for some of the Vols most productive offenses. And all things considered, I actually thought Chaney's first year at UT was pretty successful when he was OC/TE or OC/Interior O Line.

Now that Spurrier has retired, if I am CBJ, I would at least telephone him and maybe share some ideas with Spurrier.
