FBI locks down Pilot HQ?

rambling yes - idiotic not necessarily so - I worked for another wealthy Tennessean and they were constantly on alert and working to minimize the possibility of someone kidnapping the grand kids. I am not saying when there is a terrorist attack --- I know the order of protection - the FBI shuts down Pennsylvania Avenue - they add protection to the President and members of congress. Where the Governors of the States along with members of the 500 wealthiest people in the country fall in the order of added protection -- I couldn't tell you - but it is certainly conceivable that added protection would go out to all the Governors and to their families.

My main point was that it was way too early to speculate.

:eek:lol:

Or it could just be a simple case of price fixing :) When you control the lions share of the market I think it makes it a lot easier to be accused of price fixing? I question why the government let them acquire Flying J in the first place.

If it's price-fixing, this seems like an odd place to start, considering that they're among the absolute cheapest options throughout the Southeast, unless all of the gas companies are working together.

I can tell you Pilot Store Managers were contacted and told this is baseless. Seems like an attack on the Private Sector. Pilot/Flying J tries to buy Fuel in bulk to get the lowest price ! If anything OBAMA is mad that Fuel prices aren't higher thus driving people to his "alternative energy"...just my thoughts. The Haslems are richer than rich but they are all about the blue collar worker ! #bootstraps

Put the crack pipe down.

Oh, I'm not saying that I think the Haslams are too smart to pay players. I'm saying I'd be shocked if they were such incompetent businessmen that there's a trail of evidence leading back to their family business.

the governor and his family aren't paying players and the idea or speculation that they could be is a pathetic

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul

Keep thinking. Maybe you'll have a rational thought someday.

I heard Jimmy Hoffa has been alive all these years and is at the bottom of this whole thing.

I had to revisit this because it's just so freakin awesome. Nice to know that all they are thinking about is the folks in the ditches digging away all day. Must be really lovely people.:hi:

Somebody else brought up the NCAA. I'm not speculating that anybody is paying players; I'm pointing out that in the hypothetical event that they were, it's highly unlikely that this raid would uncover anything. Perhaps that's too fine a point for you to understand.

Also, possible that it might. Sometimes, some people feel so far above everyone else that they don't worry about covering any trails. Not saying that's the case here, but it has been elsewhere. Will be interesting to find out what this is actually all about and what turns up.

If they have been paying players, they need to step their game up.

Come on, this has nothing to do with football players. You don't bust out the FBI, and IRS on paying football players. This is much bigger. This could be a combo of tax evasion and gas price fixing. Pilot pretty much sets the gas prices for all of Knoxville and surrounding area. FBI doesn't just up and decide to raid a business either. That was a task force that entered that building and they would have been gathering intel for some time now to make a move like that.
