Funny you guys are talking about dumping drinks on people. The 98 Arky game (those of you that were there probably remember how miserable it was until the last couple minutes) my dad accidentally dumped a half his coke on the head of the guy in front of us. Of course he was an "old fart" that never stood-up, yelled, shouted, and hardly clapped from what I remember. So maybe that was Neyland karma biting him in the ace.

I prefer to stand but I usually do more sitting to appease the neighbors around me. My mom is as loud as any women i've ever heard cheer but her knee is bad and I know standing up a heck of a lot is not any fun for her. I try to remember that when I'm pissed my neighboring seats aren't standing. It doesn't stop me from standing up to celebrate or watch the big play.
One trick I use is to get people around me involved in high fives or fist bumps on TD's that way they get used to me standing and even if they aren't keen on it it's hard not to like someone just having fun and being amped for the Vols. A lot of people are just shy or reserved and being cool while being exuberant can get them fired up when they previously weren't.

In other words, you manage to get excited and do pretty much whatever you want to do because you use your brain and are courteous to others. What a novel concept. :good!:

I'm sure people get told to sit down or stop yelling all the time for no apparent reason, but I have rarely ever seen it . . . and I'm one of the morons that reflexively yells annoying stuff like screen, draw, watch the flat, and what coverage the defense is in for no apparent reason.

I've had a few tell me to sit down, which I do when the action is down. I usually try to get them involved on TD's and stuff though so I can stand more with less griping. It's hard to hate someone being polite is my thought process. I wish at times I didn't have to placate curmudgeons as much as I have too sometimes but I just take them in stride.

Let me start out by saying I'm a season ticket holder in Sec O Row 27, which is 2 rows from the isle break or whatever, along with 3 other of my friends. We're all in our mid 20s age range. We're very passionate about Tennessee Football. This past weekend during the Buffalo game, right after the kickoff. (maybe the 2nd play of the game) an usher from behind starts yelling for myself and my friends to sit down. (We're not standing on the benches or anything, where just standing where our seats are) He gets my attention cause I'm wearing a #16 jersey, so he singles me out and says I need to sit down so the other 2 rows behind me can see. I turn around and I reply "I'm sorry for any inconvience, but I'm a season ticket holder & no where on my ticket does it say I'm not allowed to stand and cheer" he in turns says "would you like for me to come down there and assist you in sitting in your seat." I understand the people who may have been behind our group couldn't see clearly, but all they had to do was stand. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. My group did sit for majority of the Buffalo game, but we told those behind us that when Georgia, LSU and other SEC teams come to Neyland that we will be standing for the better part of the game. (80-90% of entire game) Non of us drink, curse or any of that nature. We're just passionate fans. Do you think we're in the wrong here? Looking for any suggestions.

Some people may need a wall to wall counseling session. If he is bigger than you I suggest the use of dimensional lumber. (or whatever is handy that can put the hurt on him).:vava:
