I agree. I might play Fallout 3 first since I never played it.
Holy crap, Kwebb! 😯 Definitely play 3. It may not be necessary for the story since they're likely not linked much at all, but damn, that's arguably one of the top 5 games of the previous generation!
It'd also give time for them to patch any bugs after launch.
I'm jealous. I wish I could erase FO3 from memory and experience it again for the first time.
so I may have woken up at midnight and played until work. It has been really fun and challenging. they have added enough where it doesn't just feel like a re-skin, which I heard some people complaining about.
1. Enemies are unique. IMO FO3 the enemies were varied by ranged or melee and power. now each different type fights a lot different. ghouls fall down, moles tunnel, raiders will do hit and runs. thats all i have fought so far. A lot of use of turrets
2. faction/settlement building seems like it will be a big thing, its impressive how much they through into the settlement building
3. map size seems smaller, but there are more events, and the game seems more compressed, more cities and density which changes it from the previous. again jmo, based on 6.5 hours of gameplay
4. armor and weapon customization got even heavier, all of the crafting seems clunky but that may just be me getting used to it
5. leveling system is different but recognizable
6. seems like they want you to break down more stuff, at least to start. I still have yet to find a store or a caravan to sell/buy. so you have to make do with what you find. I have had two missions go on pause while i explored and then coincedentally found the stuff I needed. thankfully with the game being open world, one quest on pause doesn't slow it down.
if anybody has questions I will gladly attempt to answer.
After initially worrying that my computer wouldn't even be able to load the game (8 GB RAM minimum requirement), I live to fight another day!
I have a 6 year old CPU/motherboard, a 3.5 year old GPU (that was mid-range when I bought it), and 4 GB DDR2 RAM....and Fallout 4 plays pretty damn well.
The only excuse for that happening is that this console generation has absolutely crippled any and all graphical advancements in games. There's no way I should be running a late 2015 AAA release on such old hardware.
crap - "will my PC run..." is saying FO4 won't run with my HD 7790 card....
