Even More Obamacare Follies

uh, I think O is a lot worst than a brat. He's a pos w/shoes that wants his way & no other way will do. And he has these big ol ears that he never hears what people are saying about this ACA disaster failure. Government can't run health care like the private sector can.

why does the GOP need to work to improve the Dems and Obama's signature piece of legislation?

Fine. I hope they campaign next election to return health care to the 2008 status quo. That will be a real winner.

The Dems got exactly what they wanted with this bill and should own it.

Actually, most of them didn't embrace entire the bill--it was compromise legislation. But you're right, they do own it.

there can be improvements made but not while ACA is in place. It is law a regardless of what Obama says it must be followed.

the only compromise was between the insurance companies and the Dems. It's on them

The website appears to now be functional with 1 million visitors reported visited the site Monday.

Obama says the ACA will not be repealed as long as he is president but he is willing to work with both sides to make it a better law.

The GOP needs to focus on making this a better law instead of repeal. Anyone with an IQ over 80 has known with a Dem Senate and the ACA being the POTUS signature legislation, no way this law is going to be repealed. It cannot be made perfect but it CAN be made better. Our congress needs to legislate, if they haven't forgot how to.

You may need the "one size fits all" coverage but most don't & aren't willing to pay for something they don't need. The ACA is a disaster for a couple reasons. The president flat out lied. There's nothing really affordable about it.

I guess the question would be:

How many of those "visitors" were just curious about the website as compared to how many were actively seeking insurance?

Some sites get millions of hits a day, doesn't mean anything got done.

They have to get 240 thousand enrolled a day every day for the rest of the month in order to meet their goal....ain't happening gramps

You are absolutely correct. If large numbers are buying coverage that helps the Dems promote the ACA. If a lot of lurkers with few buyers that helps the GOP cause. With it being operational it moves the talking points of both sides.

There's no way to make the ACA a "better law" and why should the GOP try to help now? They were completely frozen out of the process in 2009 by Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

I guess he moved the goal posts again...go figure.

No not on that. That has been the goal all along.

The date to sign up has been moved a week in order for coverage to go in effect 1/1/14.
It has been moved from Dec 15 to Dec 23.

I understood the goal to be 7 million by March 2014

That's still over 59,000 a day by 31 March not including today. And with the glitches still not worked out in the system? That number just keeps going up each and every day they have setbacks. Plus, with the Holiday Season, nobody is shopping for health insurance. And when credit card bills comes due in January, most will put it off til February.

Pretty tough numbers to play no matter what.

Never fear, OFA will start signing people up for Obamacare with the same penchant for cooking the books as they showed when registering them to vote. Obama and Gramps will be able to tout what a huge success it all is and any claim to the contrary is just GOP dirty tricks.

To say the ACA cannot be made a better law is ridiculous. The GOP is sent to DC to legislate, not obstruct. It is their job to do all they can to make it better. If not for Republicans Bob Bennett, Mike Enzi, Chuck Grassley and Olympia Snowe working on the ACA in committee we would have had the public option when the bill was passed. They did have some influence on the final bill. The GOP can sit on rheir hands and continue to act like spoiled brats and drive this fast to single payer or they can do their job and do all they can to repair it

Plus there's no security that was built into the system. Not too many people are going to give up personal secret information that hackers will steal & use. And once signed up there's no telling if all the personal information that was put into the system will actually go to the insurance you signed up for. There's still plenty of "fixes" that have to be done before thousands sign up for this POS that's unaffordable to pay for.

There's no feasible way to make it better. The GOP didnt want it then & they don't want it now & neither do millions of Americans. The only fix is scrapping it.
