Empty Neyland Movement (#uncluttervolnation)

If Tatum quit, could it be because of his disappointment about this movement.? Players know - I’d be upset about it if I were a player.

Just asking. Just sayin.

If he really has quit and it's due to something like this that hasn't even happened yet, then good riddance. Hopefully he hasn't quit, or if he has it isn't over this potential situation. We are raising a generation of safe space sissies.

I despise Butch. But I'd gladly be there with my son on Saturday if we had tickets. I'd rather sit in those seats than willingly choose to stay home.

Then buy some! There are plenty out there for next to nothing. Stop crying about what other people choose to do with their tickets.

Have you guys seen the Marcus Tatum quit thread? There are a bunch of cream puffs over there saying he quit the team because of empty neyland...turns out he IS just injured. It's amazing how angry and delusional emptyneyland is making the ignorant.

no more delusional that the fans that think not buying a coke and a hotdog at the game this weekend is going to make the AD make a decision when they want him to make it.

I'm guessing that guaranteed annual $30-35 million dollar check from SEC Network carries a little more weight than 20-25K fans not showing up to buy a hot dog and a coke.

i think that's a biiiiiiit overstated, at least as a result of this "movement".

it's southern miss, we're having a crappy season. there weren't going to be 102455 in the stands when the season started for this game. add the crappy factor, and that number decreases even more.

but the numbers being thrown out? 20-30k not going to show because of this? nah.

once we lost to USCe, i told my wife we'll be able to sit where ever we want. and that had nothing to do with anything other than how the season has turned out.

but i'm sure there'll be someone somewhere showing a picture of Neyland Saturday night claiming "victory".

The fact that opposing fans are coming to the thread making ridiculous arguments against it should tell anyone all they need to know about the fear of the change it can cause.

You're probably right about attendance, but my point stands. There were plenty of empty seats in Gainesville when we played...before the wheels fell off of our respective seasons.

I believe this so-called movement has good intentions, but it won't have nearly the economic impact some folks think it will. It hurts the local businesses more than anything.

You greatly understimate money hungry people.

no, i don't. people aren't going to to go. we're having a bad season. that was already in the books before this thing ever got started.

but the money on the tickets is already spent. from a pure financial standpoint, this is not going to affect much of anything this season. there will be some unrealized revenue on concession sales. that's all.

if you really want to impact them financially, don't donate to the VASF next year, and don't renew your season tickets next year.

and then get 10 or 20k of your followers to do the same, and then you might make a dent financially (assuming that is, others don't take your place...so, put your money where your mouth is, really). and then you might have something worthy of actually being called a movement.

until then, this is just a temper tantrum, and just like with my kids, you just ignore it, and remind them, they never...never....get what they want, when they act like that.

You honestly believe that other fans want us to fill up the stadium because that'll keep the coach around and they fear the alternative?

C'mon man.

I can tell that no one supporting this “movement” has actually looked at the numbers and statistics behind the athletic departments revenue. If you want to make an impact, don’t get season tickets next year. But not going to games where the majority of the seats were already purchased is idiotic. In 2015-2016 event revenue made up less than 5% of the athletic department revenue, with the largest chunks coming from donations and ESPN.

You are 100% allowed to not go to games, but thinking you are “hitting them where it hurts” is delusional. You will make little to no financial impact on the AD by not showing up to buy a hotdog and coke.

Nebraska will no doubt be firing Riley, but the fans there arent crying about how long it takes and boycotting games - its only the simpletons of this fanbase with the BLM and 60s hippies mentality, thinking protests actually work

Yep and they are the same dolts that claim Alabama fans are Gumps -- who are the real Gumps here ?

Protests have worked numerous times in history. If you want to argue against the movement, you should probably come up with an argument that has some meat to it, which there are plenty of. I totally agree with you, though, this particular movement has no effect on anything.

The irony of an American citizen making that claim isn't lost on me...how on earth do you think this country came to be?
