Empty Neyland Movement (#uncluttervolnation)

yawn. if you don't like this product, go spend your money on a better product. i'm sure the hibbets in your home town has a nice fresh bama hat next to those old ratty tn hats that you can pick up, and feel a lot better about the $$ invested.

I see you have been a VolNation member for a long time. That is a great fan resume.

I am not talking about buying hats. I am talking about the thousands of dollars we donate EVERY year. For many years. The season tickets we purchase. The trips we take, the expense it takes.

What do you think this strategy will do to recruiting?

How do you think coaching candidates will view this?

I am all for it if you say, "If CBJ is still here at the beginning of the 2018 season, then we will have a #EmptyNeyland campaign"

That is fine because you have put it out there that this will happen if he is still here, but to want to do it more than half way through the season with a recruiting class that is already crumbling is the dumbest thing I have seen.

These young men that are playing on that field have done nothing to deserve this. There are some out there that only have a handful of football games left in Neyland, but also a handful left that they will ever play again.

I want CBJ gone just as bad as the rest of you, but this campaign is going to do nothing but hurt our program even more.

I don't know and neither do you. I guess your support or opposition comes down to whether you think Currie has gotten the message or he is trying to keep Jones. Obviously if Jones is already on his way out then the damage risks aren't worth it. If Currie is harboring hopes of keeping Jones then the short term damage is less than the likely longterm damage of that decision.

They already won and it's been called off. The rumor is out about the negotiations.

Let them have their victory.

Now if you don't go to the games it means you want to keep Butch.

#keepup

Negotiations were essentially done before the movement even started. Follow your own advice and #keepup

Let's make it easier. If people are worried about an empty stadium and what it does to the program. Then why don't they pony up and buy everyone a ticket ... apparently you have the money to throw around to a team with a losing record. There are hard working people that save to go to these games. Tickets, parking, food, and gas don't come cheap. Then show up to see a team with so much potential ... just get trounced by an inferior team. Many don't have the luxury as a few to throw money at this mess.

No more than continuing Butch's crappy brand of football will do to it.

How do you think coaching candidates will view this?

Most likely for what it is, fans upset over the admin continually fielding a bad product (10 years of it now). Potential coaches will look more at the people they would be working for, roster and facilities than the fans that cheer for them.

Why would the consequences be so much worse now than next year? If CBJ is here next year, then we are screwed. What GOOD coach would seriously want to work for people that retained CBJ? They would see them as idiots and rightfully so.

These young men that are playing on that field have done nothing to deserve this. There are some out there that only have a handful of football games left in Neyland, but also a handful left that they will ever play again.

On this we agree. They deserve MUCH better. Unfortunately, the fans can't give them what they really need.

I want CBJ gone just as bad as the rest of you, but this campaign is going to do nothing but hurt our program even more.

This I seriously doubt.. (see #1)

If you can't be there for the rough times then you can't come back for the good times.

Now, you get to tell me when I can go to games again? I'm not sure how much of your hard-earned money has been spent on season tickets for the past 13 years, travel to away games and bowl games, Bristol, Mercedes, Nashville, SEC Championship,... But I'll tell you that I have earned every right to show my disapproval and refuse to invest any more money in football until the AD shows a commitment to make us a nationally-relevant program again.

i just don't buy the 'customer' angle. customers' are fickle and will change buying habits if met with bad service or products.

and if that's how you view UT football, then change your buying habits and spend that money on a better product/service.

a customer's problem can be solved relatively quickly and easily.

This is the free market at work and I’m fully supportive of anyone choosing to withhold spending their time and/or money on a product that doesn’t meet their personal standards. Capitalism is a beautiful thing.

It's not just football. Men and women's Basketball and baseball is terrible too. We simply have an inept and selfish admin who don't seem to care about winning.

I agree and it has been that way for many years.

#emptyneyland is so stupid why would we want to do that to the team whoever started this and if support this you are not true Tennessee Football fans. Dont get me wrong i think its time for a change but this is the wrong way of doing it

Remember also: football is entertainment. Tennessee football is not entertaining right now. Why would I waste half a Saturday on that? I'm a busy professional with three kids and I really value my free time.

I'm starting to agree with most of your point. I do think the entire empty Neyland can be directly tied to whoever is making the decisions to keep CBJ through the end of the season.

The parallels between empty Neyland and the Bruce Pearl petition are scary to me. So Who with be our Donnie Tyndall for football???

Sensitive much? You think you’re the only season ticket holder that’s upset?

We all want better but I refuse to become the fair weather fan that’s only around when we are winning. So jump ship when we are down, you weren’t a true fan anyway.

After 5 seasons and a losses to Vandy and UK this program is frail because of Jones. Now we have a non Bama AD and he doesn't get it. Pull the plug on Jones now and there will be hope. Get it done!
