Empty Neyland Movement (#uncluttervolnation)

Yes absolutely 100% on that chance.

That times news article is very concerning.

I very much trust the editors that cleared that story being written. They would not have allowed that source quoted without good confirmation on the source.

When asked if there was .1% chance of Butch being here next year the anonymous insider said, "it's possible". I read it like, anything is possible.

There are odds of taking a watch apart and shaking it in a bag until it goes back together as a working watch. From past experience with taking a watch apart, that would never happen. I don't care what the odds are.

Just because Butch doesn't go shark humper doesn't mean he is back next year. At Tn we do fire coaches for wins and losses.

You saw the article from the times free press right?

There is legitimate talk about bringing Butch back.

the one where an unnamed source said he thinks there's a chance he might be retained if he's 7-5?

yeah, i saw that. don't care.

i'll assume you saw my post in the thread about it?

This is one of those moments where both is ok.

You are absolutely right . My point is that he was on this thread earlier talking about passing up a Vol game to go watch navy play. YET he is here badgering people who now choose not to got to a vol game for reason that they feel are important.

This is actually working quite well and putting the fear in the AD. That's why we are seeing AD side sources leaking out that his harms the coaching search or harms the players etc. This harms their wallet, nothing else. They want you to come and buy up merchandise and food and stay out of their business. Just give them your money and shut up. No more. John Currie could end this movement this afternoon and he'd be praised for it. But he won't. It's all on him.

Once again i have to ask why are people on here trying to convince other people to go to the game . All of you folks that don't like EMPTYNEYLAND go to the game . Show us all set an example but please quit trying to act like people are not fans for feeling different about the situation than you.

I'm not trying to convince anybody to do anything. I'm just discussing A) what I see as the flawed logic of it and B) the sincerity of it.

I seriously doubt I could talk anybody into going since they likely either have a strong opinion or were never going in the first place.

as i hear from friends of mine that are fans of other programs, the only thing i can tell you is that the perception you think it's giving off is not the perception that's being taken outside this 'movement'.

it's a bad look. it just is. Bama gets 90000+ to a spring game. we're talking about not going to a regular season game to show our support.

you don't see the difference, then you probably shouldn't go.

die. hard.

And risk the chance of the riot falling apart?

The administration of this program and the Alabama program are direct, polar opposites. Our program is a laughingstock and it's because of Butch and John Currie. Not the fans. Try to run a successful business where you displease your customers and you blame the customers for your failures. It won't work and you'll be out of business immediately.

customers and fans are two different things, first. if you're a customer, just go find another college football program that has a better product that deserves your $$$. problem solved for the 'customer'.

and there's nothing about empty neyland that is decreasing the laughing stock factor nationally.

and we're not comparing administrations in this example. i agree, lots of differences between us and them. but this is about fans and what they deserve, right?

You are incorrect about customers and fans being different. You are asked pay money for a product, that makes you are a customer. Bottom line.

UT asks people for hundreds or thousands of dollars for the product on the field, merchandise, food etc.. Don't be surprised when the customers they seek choose other outlets in which to spend their large sums of money when they can simply half-heartedly watch on tv.

Saying "go find another team" is the same as saying "let them eat cake". It ends poorly for the people in charge.

As for decreasing the laughingstock factor, John Currie can end it any time he chooses. I've actually seen a number of articles about it, none chastising the fans. We were raked over the coals when Fulmer was fired. This time the AD is raked over the coals by national media on the daily for retaining Butch Jones.
