Embarrassing

The world has turned into a cess pool. Yes, it's embarrassing. I went to my first game in years at Neyland for the Georgia game. Paid over $250 bucks for 2 tix, parking, concessions (FV for the tix). Sat in a non-visitor section. The 4 drunk Georgia punks that sat right next to us completely ruined the game. They never shut up trash talking the Vols program. I wasn't expecting a win but could have still enjoyed the experience. I'll save my money, time and enjoy the games in HD from now on. I'm not naive to think our fans are better than anybody else. It's always the bad ones that get noticed and talked about.

uga fans making #$$es of themselves. I’m shocked beyond belief.

We do have a quality board though. Some fans from other teams may get more 8nteraction with our board than theirs.

And most of the Florida fans here are decent enough, as are the few hammers. They usually add to the conversation. But on average, one notable exception aside, the uga fans here are boorish, whiny, and passive aggressive, like most uga fans.

I've related this experience here before, but at the Oregon game in Eugene in 2013 a lady Duck fan apologized to me after hearing some other Duck fans talking some smack to me. I thanked her, but said no apology was necessary, since a bit of good-natured ribbing was part of the fun. She insisted and said that she had been to Knoxville for the first game in the series and was treated so graciously by Vol fans and had such a wonderful time that she could not stand to see a Tennessee fan being treated otherwise.

It's probably a mistake to judge a fan base on a few isolated examples.

Calm down
Peeked into the Black and Gold Purdue forum, and came across the thread, "Playing Tennessee." It was super embarrassing to see, as usual, one or more Vols fans just shaming our fanbase.

You don't barge into someone else's home and presume to tell them their furniture is the wrong brand, how to raise their kids, and their dog is a mutt instead of a pedigree breed. We have a board here, likely the finest fan board in the country, no need to register on someone else's board. Nor post stuff that give a semblance of credibility that Tennessee fans are buck-toothed, dimwitted, classless, and worse. It was embarrassing to see Vols fans who feel the need to go to other college forums just to post arrogant statements. Or provoke arguments, which often end up in their access being removed. I visit opponent forums from time to time, but only lurk, just to see their perceptions of themselves and us. I never register, nor post. It's their home, they can say and believe whatever they want. I don't live there and don't want to, a shame some of our fans feel, think, and act differently about that.
Calm down Karen. Sheesh.

Are they vol fans from this board?

Did anyone see the thread where they got together and organized a plan to go to the Purdue boards and stir any trouble?

So I just went over to the forum referenced and "wth are you talking about?" TN fans aren't over there saying anything overly obnoxious. Some fan banter back and forth and that's it. A couple of Purdue fans calling us toothless hillbillies and such and TN making fun of them being irrelevant in the B10. Embarrassed? Quit acting like some stuffy noob and get a sense of humor. Did you think someone couldn't go check out your ludicrous assertion? Does making stuff up make you feel good about yourself?

I agree, VN's buck-toothed, dimwitted, classless, and worse need to stay home and post here.

If I didn't, why give the thread title? There will always be those who seek to minimize rudeness and folly. We see it from the highest levels of our government agencies to school kids. Thanks for emphasizing that. OK, ready. . . 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 -1 and ____

It's particularly embarrassing to see our own fans talk smack on other boards when in recent years we have so rarely backed it up. I remember the West Virginia game a few years ago we had some guys running their mouths big time beforehand and then some West Virginia fans came on here afterwards and spiked the football and I didn't blame them.

I understand you. However, if those WVA fans had either class or brains, they could have stomped our retards with a message like this: "Thank you for invading our board prior to the game to brag and put us down. We won't do the same to you despite our victory. We think you have a really nice message board. We also thank you for scheduling our team. You can't play a football game without an opponent. Thank you."

I might have done a fail here, but the idea is they could have slain our snots with kindness. All that aside, it teaches me I have the right idea to not go to opponent sites and machine gun run my mouth.

The internet makes cowards brave. A lot of the chit said in forums would not be said standing face to face. I just wish there was a way to run stupid post through something like spell check. It might stop some of this crap.

My vote for Dumb Post of the Day.

Overreact much? I guess nobody noticed you didn't link the offending post.... if there actually is one?

Somebody else may have already said it but I think you're missing a very possible explanation. It could be one of their rival fans simply making account to troll them with, like an Indiana fan.

Sure are a lot of high brow look down your nose types in our fan base. I don't know how some of you get through life that you're bothered by silly comments on an internet forum about a game.

The UGA fans that troll here like UGAdog4life….are only here to troll and look for affirmation for their own program. It is a sign of weakness!!!!!

Funny that you of all people criticize Vol fans posts. You are one of the worst posters here.

My experience living in Florida is just opposite Gator fans are the biggest pieces of crap around, much worse than Ga.
