I think the thunderstorm band is pretty wide, so I'd guess so. Not sure about tornadoes though.

This has been the most oppressively hot July I can remember!

Summer in the southeast is like that distant relative that comes to visit you. You're happy to see them and its pleasant at first. But then they stick around for far too long and over time they start to irritate the life out of you!

I saw that too. Seems almost impossible it’s never gotten that hot there before, but apparently it was true.
