The true death toll from the Ebola epidemic is being masked by chaotic data collection and people’s reluctance to admit that their loved ones had the virus, according to one of west Africa’s most celebrated film-makers.

Sorious Samura, who has just returned from making a documentary on the crisis in Liberia, said it is very clear on the ground that the true number of dead is far higher than the official figures being reported by the World Health Organisation.

The CDC considers Ebola a level IV biohazard and in their research labs under controlled conditions requires pressurized suits, outside air for breathing and decontamination after leaving the lab, but in the real world (non controlled environment) they are just coming to the conclusion that you shouldn't have exposed skin when dealing with a patient, amazing.

Totally intrigued by this subject. Ebola isn't anything new it's been around. Almost makes me wonder if our government is playing us and covering up something much worse going on.


When you aren't sure if you can trust what you're being told, you probably can't. Sad, but true. I'm only 24 though what do I know.

“Thankfully they are all asymptomatic and it looks like none of them will get Ebola,” Jenkins said, expressing hope that they would be welcomed home with no issues. “The community needs to reach out and envelop them in compassion and acceptance because we cannot have the community stigmatizing people. … They have been through a terrible ordeal.”

As for the other 75 people, they are in Day 11 of 21 since Duncan’s death and Jenkins said, “Today is a crucial day for them because is one of the last high-likelihood days that we will see more cases.”

Yep, but Ebola patients get pretty gross towards the end. That why it is essential to follow the proper protocol to make sure those fluids don't get into places you don't want them.
