Drastic action needed on Ebola

So they appoint the guy who managed the doling out of stimulus dollars and Gore's Florida recount effort. The rationale, was essentially, we don't want a medical expert but someone who has failed in the two largest appointments of their life.

Thanks...

I'm actually going to be in the Fort Worth area. (Not that it makes much difference)

Have you bought a protective suit and respirator? Better not touch anything or breathe the air anywhere in Texas. I mean there have been a couple of Ebola cases. The whole state is in danger of being infected now.

Dr Jahrling explained that his team, who are working in the epicentre of the crisis in the Liberian capital of Monrovia, are seeing that the viral loads in Ebola patients are much higher than they are used to seeing.
He told Vox.com: 'We are using tests now that weren't using in the past, but there seems to be a belief that the virus load is higher in these patients [today] than what we have seen before. If true, that's a very different bug.

Ebola Panic Reaches New Heights As Maine Teacher Is Put On Leave Because She Visited Dallas | ThinkProgress

An elementary school teacher in Maine has been placed on leave for 21 days, the incubation period of Ebola, after she visited Dallas to attend an educational conference. The teacher did not come into contact with anybody who had tested positive for the virus, but did stay at a hotel “exactly 9.5 miles away from Texas Health Presbyterian,” where Ebola patients have been treated.

Turns out that the hospital didn't have the medicine stocked (none do) since it's not FDA approved. As soon as Duncan was diagnosed, the hospitals MD's requested the FDA to release it under the compassionate use waiver. By the time he got it, it was too late - he was already crazy sick after being sent home for days..

The other people who received it had better care - sooner and the caregivers had more time to get through the red tape of the FDA.

I don't believe for second Duncan didn't get the experimental drug because he was black.

It wasn't racism. It was the fact that the jokers at Dallas Presbyterian couldn't pick up the phone and call their good friend at xyz federal agency to grease the skids the way the guy/gal at Emory could. The level of care and access to decision makers is fundamentally different, I would guess.

I also think the director of the CDC did nothing but enable their silliness by coming out and making excuses for the guys in Dallas from day 1. He needs to be fired when this is over.

Is it really necessary to keep putting this idiot buffoon up so we can see & listen to him babble or not? He almost makes me physically ill. If I could go one day without seeing or hearing this worthless pos president I'd be sooo freaking happy in life.
