According to Hyams on 104.5 the Zone this morning, UTK has already lost at least three six figure (or more) donors over this and they've had Manning calling major boosters to try and stop the bleeding.
its just another example of this backstabbing admin, when good coaches have no interest or dont come in the future...remember this. they will.
Bones Never Lie.
When Florida beat us 10-9 a few years back, we talked in the parking lot after the game. He said that was the worse skilled Florida team he had ever seen come into Knoxville. We missed a great opportunity to kill the streak then.
Oh look, another thread about someone not liking the AD hire. Who gives a flying monkey's ass? It's over with! The fans and the media need to move on and let Currie do his job. Blackburn wasn't hired. He would have been great but Currie has a chance to be great too. No reason for constant whining over something that's already been done.

That happened pretty early on.
One critical criteria that appears to have been overlooked in this hiring is a figure that could unite. If anything it appears they went the opposite direction on that.
agreed. i think they knew they could check a two boxes...P5 experience and he has TN ties. and hoped that'd be enough.
maybe it will be over time. just a bit salty right now. this thing took on a life of its own, and i still blame the administration as a whole for allowing this thing to become the debacle it turned out to be in the media, on social media, and for Fulmer and Blackburn individually.
it could have all been avoided by simply not announcing Hart's retirement back in August.

All this BS and "news" of this kind needs to be back in politics. Getting tired of the he said, I think, I know more than anyone else comments on this subject. Things are what they are with this issue. They aren't gonna change. Whether we agree with the hire or not, some of us need to quit trying to be sour grape protesters like we see on the political front all over the country. They aren't doing anything that is helpful AND NEITHER IS THIS BS..
Ok, you're hiring someone to run a $100 million business.
Do you:
1) Hire a former employee who was good at sales but never ran a company
2) Hire a former employee who has run a company of about $10 million
or
3) Hire one who has run one of $70 million for about 6 yrs?
The answer is the same; doesn't matter if its building houses, selling lemonade on the corner or running an athletic dept. The best business decision is you hire the person with the best resume, most experience and demonstrated track record vs the unknown.
