Doug "Vandy" Matthews doesn't know shiite. It doesn't matter who the next OC is. Might as well be Friend. It's a one year gig anyway. If we lose to Vanderbilt again next year, Pruitt will be gone too, along with his Friend.

you may wish that to be so, but we both know it's not.
Besides, its still WF until it isn't. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong.
but I'm not
Anything's possible. Don't believe it would have been the plan because it would have happened much sooner. Not trolling..but I sincerely believe that the longer this goes, the more certain it's Friend.

Do we know:
1. If Pruitt has offered the job to any candidate?
2. If Pruitt has actually interviewed anyone for the position?
3. How many people on VN need Xanax because of this OC search?
My guess is no one that can prove it truly knows the answer to questions 1 or 2 but that many people can hold their hand up to #3.
It doesn't matter what fans think or want or imagine in their heads. And, it really doesn't matter who Pruitt hires — chances are high that we won't be good offensively next year anyway. It is going to take at least a couple more recruiting classes before we are good on either side of the ball.
Which is a bad sign. Something is wrong at UT behind the scenes still if we are having such a hard time landing an OC.I listened to some of DM's abbreviated Football Saturday broadcast yesterday. He had switched from saying 95% done to 'Pruitt and Fulmer are not worried about OC situation, so I'm not going to worry about it.' It really sounded like he's changed his report but he did not spend a lot of time on the subject. He did say that he'd focus on recruiting today and he'll probably spend at least half the time talking with Bill Justice about the basketball game. I imagine he won't spend much time on OC search today but I really hope he will address whether something changed that made him back off 95% or does he still think it's done and we're just waiting on the right time to announce. I don't expect him to name names but several reporters have suggested that Yurcich walked to the alter with us and then became the runaway bride.

I’m doubting Doug.I'm not doubting Doug, but I just wonder, unless it's an NFL guy (and it very well could be) what's the point of all the secrecy? You'd think Pruitt would want to announce this right away and get his guy here as soon as possible to help with recruiting and start working on installation for next season. We finished 5-7 and lost to Vandy for the 3rd straight year. Urgency is the ONLY word that needs to be on them damn Nike shirts for next year.
