Don’t know if that would be good for ESDIf Mathews is correct, perhaps Pruitt has his guy but is waiting until after the playoffs to announce so it is not a distraction to a team. There are only 4 teams playing for anything that truly matters so it should not matter if it is a coach not in the playoff.
It is possible that it is an NFL guy too. If so, we may have to wait 3 more weeks, or longer, if he coaches on a playoff team.
I’m not sure why it would matter if they announced an NFL guy or not so I think it is someone coaching for one of four college teams.
Or it really is a cluster**** and they are scrambling to find someone which means Pruitt could eventually play it safe and promote Friend or Osevet.
I dont know brother, but I'm not getting the warm fuzzies with this update:
MONDAY UPDATE— Plane tied to FSU’s Willie Taggart now in Houston: ’Noles recruiting or hiring new OC?
What a crazy fan base!!!!! These guys are tracking planes!!!.......I mean, who does that???
Taggart wont make it another year
He MAY be a very good OL coach. We dont know that yet.
Sure, 7 years of proven history doesn't mean squat lol. He was the highest paid assistant in the country for a reason. He did great at uga and csu.
Hell, he just improved the OL by a small bit when 1) everyone knew it would be 1 of our 2 main weak spots this year, 2) we lost 3 veteran OL, 3)then Kennedy, 4) then Trey (and he was never right after a missed offseason), 5) ALL WHILE changing schemes and after losing a year of s&c. Good lawdie! And a fair amount of the missed blocks were by RBs and poor protection changes, not just the ol.
The fact that he could even improve our stats despite all that was going against him is very impressive in itself. Give him 1 year of continuity and I expect success just as he has had at his last 2 spots.
He is well respected throughout the industry for a reason.
Whoa whoa whoa WHOA!!! Common sense will not be accepted or tolerated here sir. If you don’t have a pitchfork in your hand and aren’t bashing the staff over rumors that have been proven wrong time after time after time then you have no place here.Sure, 7 years of proven history doesn't mean squat lol. Shoop was bery well respected as well. Success everywhere he went. Except for TN. I am all for giving Friend time. And I surely do hope he turns this OL around. But, until it actually happens, nobody can say with any certainty, that he will be any good here. Thats my only point. His past means nothing right now.
