Right! Very little the "higher up" does makes sense to me. However, I don't know a dam- thing about how to run a football program or very little else. Just Fat, Dumb, and Unhappy (most of the time) about how they run things in the AD.

This morning on his radio show, Coach Mathews said he has been told (most likely by his best friend Fulmer) that Pruitt has his guy who has accepted the job.
But, Mathews said he does not know that name.
Said he doesn’t ask questions like that because he doesn’t want to know things that he can’t use on the air.
Said UT hasn’t made announcement yet “possibly” because the guy is still coaching somewhere else.
He added that this choice has been exclusively Pruitts and that Fulmer and the administration have not interfered.

Take all that with whatever grains of salt you wish. I’m just passing on what I heard.

He also said that the decision/this hire is 100% and solely Pruitt’s hire, that absolutely nobody has or will interfere with Pruitt....right before he said that Fulmer could, would (and imho did) nix JP’s choice if he didn’t think it was “good for the university”.

And, incredibly, he doubled down on saying the hire was 95% done and that the decision has been made. If that’s the case, it would seem to me that it has to be an internal promotion, otherwise he wouldn’t continue to interview candidate after candidate 5 days after Mathews made his “95% done” comment last Wednesday.

Well, If there is a part of the fan base that thinks this way, then they should reevaluate there status as a fan. If a person get this tired and feels this taken advantage of as you say, then maybe they should move on to being a fan of another school. ( like a west coast team in your case) As far as fans in the stands goes, this has always been and up and down measure of how a team is doing. (any team) However these fans are quietly showing their displeasure, not howling at the moon....

Maybe read what you wrote before proclaiming you didn’t say something that you clearly did.

I will only be let down if the product sucks. Im of the opinion that there are a ton of great offensive minds that I would have to “google” to find out who they are. Also, CJP is the one with his reputation and livelihood on the line, so he has more skin in this than anyone. He and Fulmer do. The Osovet guy on our current staff intrigues me tho.

Dream scenario, at least the Jones part of it. But most would agree, he ain’t getting anything more from Saban except a “fond farewell” once he finds some other program that will have him. I don’t hate Butch, just hate what happened under his watch at UT.

You know what I hate? Taking Kelly out of the game, and then passing the ball on 1st and 6 inches, at the goalline. I was done with Butch, good guy or not, at that point.
