Dooley's future at UT (merged)

Let me take a wild guess who was the coach when we last played Tennessee football... Fulmer? I'm at the point right now where i actually wouldn't mind him coming back. Sad, but true.

sadthing is i agree if we are gonna be a 500 team bring back fulmer. he was atleast a tennessee boy.

That's because as bad as things were getting, it's not at all obvious that we would be worse than we are now.

Our biggest potential win this year is either Missouri or Miss State or the one we already have (NC State)... unless folks feel GA State, Akron, and the like are truly football games.

I dont know about Fulmer but wouldnt mind havin Chavis back hell I thought he should have been the HC while we landed a head coach that has proven he can win and coach the players up.

I don't know about the probation... that investigation was cleared.

What I do know, though, is that Kiffin's teams had far, far more on-the-field character than any team Dooley has shown us--and that's supposed to be CDD's calling card.

Character means you don't let some other team come into your house and beat you into quitting in front of 100k+ of your most loyal fans.

I was in the Georgia Dome for Kiffin's last game. It was a heavily partisan UT crowd. Kiffin's team quit. No need to make up stuff about Kiffin to make Dooley look bad. He's doing that on his own.

Dooley is the coach and rightfully take the heat for the performance, but don't give the players free passes either. Justin Hunter dropped 2 key 3rd down passes. Bray's 2 INT's and no FLA TO's. Bray's intentional grounding came when we could've went up 2 scores. Numerous false start penalties. Teague should have push the runner out on the TD run. If CP catches the ball we have the long TD. Fla made the plays and we didn't. I could go on, but hold the players as well for folding after the 5:30 mark of the 3rd.

Dooley won't let us forget which players we should blame for the loss.

All off season we talked alot of s**t and now have a slice of humble pie to eat. Maybe next time we we wait till we play good comp before we build this team up. That being said I do believe CDD is out of his league I dont think he has the eye for talent we had hoped for. The difference in raw talent last night was obvious at every position with the exception of WR.

Kiffin's only year in Knoxville will end up better than Dooley's third.

And, the team had swagger... and believed it was only a matter of time before we beat Meyer at UF and Saban at Bama. I beleived that was our trajectory as well--and that the bowl game was just good fun after finishing the season well enough for recruiting (it wasn't a BCS bowl, but still far more than we'll see with Dooley).

With the financial issues the athletic department I'm not even sure they could afford to fire Dooley. There still paying off fulmer, Dooley still has three years left on his contract after this year, and they would have to fork out good money to hire a so called quality coach!

Was really hard to watch the meltdown. Still not sure how it happened.

Dooleyed, verb, to be beaten like a woodshed drum in the second half of ballgames.

Then all of his recruits, got arrested, failed out of school or quit in big games when things don't go their way...Yay for Kiff. Dude is a bum.

I can't figure out how he takes a decent team into the locker room and returns with a bunch of kids who don't believe they belong on the field. What is he doing during the half?

Dooley face says -- WTF? -- the entire second half.

He needs to grow a pair and keep the team focused.

The team expected the wheels to fall off at any time -- and they weren't disappointed.

Not sure if serious?

I heard his post game interview and he didn't pin the blame on anyone.

Pretty sure the coach has been coached on that one.

Moreover, all you said is true, but drops happen and Teague should be on offense had it not been for a coaching decision.
