Geez... this place has become so bogus it's hard to read here for more than a couple of days at a time. Don't know what happened to the sensible posters at VN, but they've become a lot harder to find.

There is a difference between public and private rejection. Sabin was saying no to the press while his agent worked out the deal.
In our case they were saying no to both.

Quit spewing BS. Coaches will coach and good ones seek jobs like the one at UT. We're not stuck with Sunbelt losers as our only source regardless of how gullible you were to all the Hammy talk.

but, think of all the turmoil--if we change coaches again. four coaches in four years! oh, the horror!

personally, i'd be willing to go through the phone book till we got the right one. disqualifiers: 1. only achievement-last name 2. losing record in the bush leagues 3. coaches not on everybody's short list 4. any coach who returns hammy's calls.

There is no doubt in my mind that Chaney is a big part of the problem. His offense is not well suited for SEC football. I have never been a big fan of his, and I put a lot of the blame on him.

Sure, I shared it when Hammy started talking about Dooley... so it's that old. Unlike you, I didn't need to see him prove he could lose. His record was there... and if you really care, so is mine when the bogus 3-day search was ongoing. Read for yourself, if you want to go back that far.

Fire the guy, start the search. Vet the names. Take your time. That should be enough for you at how a coaching search works. You don't need a replacement in hand to dump a loser.

If he is still here next year, I for one won't be. I've seen nearly every game the Vols have played for 25 years now. I've raised my son to love them as much as I do and we have shared some wonderful memories. So keep your fair weather fan comments to yourself. We will NEVER take steps needed to be a great team with dd as our coach. He cannot manage a team or a game. I am sick of seeing people excited about beating the ga states and vandys. If you think these kinds of wins are what TN Football is about then you are an idiot and probably started cheering for the Vols when kiffin took over as coach. I will save my money and I will find other things to do with my time but I will not have any support for this mediocre football being played. I do not expect championships every year, but a competitive team in the hunt of it all I do. La. Monroe has more wins over ranked teams than dd has.
