It is downright embarrassing sometimes to get on this forum and read many of the ridiculous statements. They sound like two year old kids who did not get their favorite candy. They whine and gripe about anything that goes on at Tennessee, especially about Dooley.
You would think they would at least wait until they watch a few games he coaches in order to form an opinion, but no, they keep their panties in a wad without anything to really base them on.
The only good thing I can see is that to many of these so-called fans, the bar has not been set very high for Dooley. To them, 4 wins should be a winning season.
I like Dooley, and I fully expect him to be successful. I hope he proves me right. At least I will wait until I have something to base it on if he doesn't.
Those numbers sound a bit off. Fulmer won a title in his 6th year, and he lost more than 5 games his first 5 seasons (more like 10). In fact, I'm pretty sure he lost 5 games to Florida his first 5 full seasons as head coach, although he beat them as an interim.
But yes, if Dooley went 45-5 in his first 5 seasons and won a national title we would be ecstatic.

Oh yeah they dominate that conference all the time, I consistently see them in bowl games as well. How many WAC championships do they have again? They have been to 5 bowls since 1977 won 1 under CDD and have 1 conference championship since joining. They are consistently one of the worst college football teams in the nation.
The guy there before Dooley had basically the same record he did...Gary Crowton was there and did better...that's not the same as going to a 2-10 program like Vandy and going .500...

Boise State wasn't in the WAC at the time. TCU wasn't in the shape it currently is. Crowton also didn't double as the AD.
That isn't as a defense of Dooley's record, but certain things need to be considered before spewing forth vile substances.
Jack Bicknell went 16-20 his last three years against pretty much the exact same WAC that Dooley faces now. If anything, the conference was better then because it had Rice, SMU, Tulsa and UTEP instead of Utah State, New Mexico State and Idaho...

What you say is not only right on point but on topic. These forums are all about taking every thread as far off on a tangent as possible. In fact the real goal here si to go off on so many tangents we end up talking about the last episode of Glee by page 12.The topic of the thread was that Dooley was in over his head, right? The two pieces of evidence presented were that someone in the office failed to let the coaches know that Thurmond was there/coming and that Chaney mistook a defensive player that he barely knows for a WR, right?
Maybe I missed the connection... how are mistakes by two other individuals indications that Dooley is in over his head?
It sounds much more to me like Hubbs is aggravated at not getting info so he's making the news. Poor reflection on a guy who has been so good if that's true.

Hey dog... leggo that bone.
DD's record should have been considered when he was hired. Maybe it was. Maybe it should have been more... but he is now the HC of UT, not LT. The ONLY things that are meaningful now are the things he does concerning UT.
You can harp on something that has absolutely no bearing on anything at all... or you can find a new bone to chew on. The LT record doesn't mean a thing any more.
