they couldn't use? are you suggesting Ukraine was precluded from using them against a Russian invasion? that they didn't in fact use them and they are still sitting around "just for show"?

more importantly - are you putting your own judgement about the Javelin deal above what the article you posted said about the deterrent power of the Javelin deal?

see my earlier comment about facts not being able to penetrate your beliefs

They could not be used for the supposed purpose from when they were delivered ... which was against the pro-Russian separatists in the Donbas region. The article I posted makes that point very clear. The article even states what I have many times now. It is misleading to suggest that those Javelin missiles were a sign of Trump's support for the Ukraine in this conflict with Russia.

Trump never takes stances against Russia. He opposed the sanctions, and refused to implement them, even after the bill passed with overwhelming bi-partisan support in Congress. Trump always takes Putin's side with any denial.

Those are the facts,

the experts quoted in the article said they would serve as a strategic deterrent against Russia. you seem to be conflating pro-Russian separatists within Ukraine with Russia and a potential Russian invasion. These were defensive weapons meant to deter Russia. the article makes that plain and there's no way to spin that as a pro-Putin move.

I can guarantee when the Russian tanks started rolling into Ukraine last year that these were used against them and helped Ukraine score some much needed early wins

He refused to okay Nordstream 2 - that was a stance against Russia
He signed arms deals with Poland and Ukraine both designed to deter Russia aggression
He urged Europe to reduce it's dependence on Russia oil and gas
He pushed for LNG terminals to be an alternate supply of gas to Europe to help lessen their dependence

Those are facts. It's a complicated story which you dumb down to Trump was just a Putin puppet.

Nothing while Trump was POTUS. Biden approved Nordstream and made a disaster of pulling out of Afghanistan and Russia made the move. Could be all a coincidence but the point stands that Trump actually took actions that were against Putin despite your simplistic narrative.
