Does anyone know if Kyle Alexander will play at the next level?

Their skillset in the NBA works because they are more athletic and/or bigger/longer than Kyle. That is why those guys can do those things at the NBA level. Kyle isn't going to get taller or become some sort of explosive athlete at this stage of his life. So comparing their skillsets is irrelevant when Kyle won't be able to achieve the physical gifts those players have that make them successful NBA players in that role. What he can develop is a 3 point shot, which is what I said from the very beginning he is going to have to do if he wants to stick in the NBA. Really not sure why you're having a tough time with this concept other than you struggle when someone disagrees with you.
He doesn’t need a three point shot. The NBA is full of compliment players who don’t shoot the three. What they do is rebound like mad. Kyles height and wing span are fine. He just wasn’t physical enough and lacked girth and strength. He would get pushed around like crazy.

he will play somewhere at the next level. and maybe get to the NBA someday.

There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that Kyle Alexander’s feet will ever touch the hardwood of an NBA court during a regular season game...and almost an equal chance for even a preseason game.

KEVIN GARNETT TIMBERWOLVES PROFILE AWARDS Drafted #5 in the 1995 NBA Draft by the Timberwolves HEIGHT: 6'11" (211 cm) WEIGHT: 217 lbs (98 kg) AGE: 43 POSITION: PF - Source: DraftExpress - Kevin Garnett DraftExpress Profile: Stats, Comparisons, and Outlook ©DraftExpress

If you are comparing Alexander to Kevin Garnett...I don’t know what to say.

I have a similar build to Brooks Koepka, but I won’t be embarking on any professional golf career anytime soon. He could give me a stroke per hole...and still clean my clock.

About the same way that Alexander compares to Garnett.

A lot of folks have the misconception that professional sports are just an extension of college sports and not that big of a leap.

However, anybody who has watched NBA and college basketball for any significant amount of time can readily see that the difference is HUGE. They aren’t even close to the same.

I have my doubts about our All American at that level, so I certainly have no illusions about our center who disappeared for weeks at a time against college players.

Completely agree. Personally, I think the move from college to professional ball is a bigger jump than high school to college. Hope Alexander makes it, but as you pointed out, from what we've seen from him to date, it's hard to see him in the NBA.

He reminds me a lot of a Hassan Whiteside/Capela Type center. He will obviously have to bulk up which will happen if he gets drafted to a team.

He has a nice looking shot and pretty good straight line speed but he doesn’t have a natural feel for the game. He’s not strong enough to guard bigs in the post and he wont be able to switch on the perimeter. His best chance is spending a few years developing overseas.

He doesn’t have the skills, but more importantly, he doesn’t have the “want to.” I don’t see him having an extended career anywhere...unless the light bulb comes on and he makes a complete transformation.

I couldn’t agree more. The NBA is played on an entirely different planet than college ball.

He’s athletic enough to carve out a career overseas. I’m not sure I’d say he doesn’t have the want to though. He didn’t start playing basketball until late in high school so he’s been behind the curve

Someone earlier in the thread compared the two, then someone else said Garnett was almost 250 in high school. They are both skinny is the only comparison I was making.

Kyle could play in that professional Canada Basketball League. He would be a nice fit on the Halifax Sharks team.

I think he plays in the NBA just like he did in the tournament, based on contribution. Difference maker.

He's going to have to bulk up and develop a nasty streak to make it in the League. I don't see him being an offensive force, so his chance to make it would be as a hustle-play, paint-protecting, rebounding role player, IMO.

It's all about the right situation in the NBA.. see Clint Capela from HOU.

Hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think he has that toughness/physicality in him.
