Dobbs is not the answer

Those things happen to all qb's. I'm all for trying to take up for the guy, but this doesn't really count.

I've never seen a guy have that many touchdowns dropped before he actually got his first one. Ever. Having said that he is a wildly inaccurate passer and barring monumental improvement or more injuries he won't start another game at UT after this IMO.

Agree with all of this.

He looks good today minus one throw. He needs work on reads and deep ball, but brings an element that is necessary in college football today with his feet.

Dobbs seemed to throw ok against bama, but has since thrown it to the other team often. His throws are wobbly and short as well. His run game is legit though.

After the pick, his last throws were on target. Maybe the light has come on. Remember that T. Martin (not comparing) looked pedestrian until halftime against UGA in 1998 when throwing.

I think the only reason his run game looks legit is that no one is respecting it.
He seems slow to me for a running QB and on the TD it seems he hesitated when he got in the open field like it wasn't supposed to happen like that and didn't know what to do.
With all that being said, I really hope he succeeds and maybe it's just my perspective.

So freshman QB's without any good WR's or SEC caliber running backs don't do well?

What is your idea of a baseline for an SEC rusher? 1300 rushing and a 6.0 YPC

I can agree about the rest, but we are top 7 in the SEC at RB and might be top 5

Looked like he improved last night although it was Kentucky...here's to hoping he progresses over the off season as well as all our other QB's. Let the competition begin!

When Bray played in his first game against South Carolina you could immediately tell he had serious arm talent. He proved it by blowing out Ole Miss. Dobbs has done nothing but get worse on his throws down field in each successive game. He's compared to Tee Martin but Tee threw lasers. He was sometime very inaccurate but he could throw the ball down field and challenge the defense. Dobbs has yet to prove he can do that and I do not think the coaches will give him a chance today. It will be another game plan similar to Vandy. Butch does not want to be saddled with the worst team in Tennessee football history.

Bray never led us to winning anything ..although as a freshman he looked like he was going to . Tee Martin was a junior when he started ...its not a good comparison.
All I am saying is that what you are seeing from Dobbs is typical of a freshman QB . Inaccuracy and missed reads , erratic in the pocket. These are all things that can be resolved with repetition and time.
