DLine recruit

Yannick Ngakoue maybe? 3* out of DC that projects as a LB in college.
It would be nice to pick up some commitments heading into June-July. Would help with the summer doldrums before fall camp begins.

EB was moved to safety as soon as he started at UT. He came out of HS as a CB. He was moved there because he was the best we had at the time.

EB would have been drafted in the first 10 picks regardless of Monte or if he played CB or S.

Monte Kiffin takes a phone call from a NFL exec and tells them he is one of the best he has ever coached.
I think that might have a positive result on a players draft location. EB was great here at UT but an NFL legendary DC backing the kid sure didn't hurt with his high draft pick.

NO NFL Exec worth answering the phone for would have called to ask. EB was a once in a generation player.. at any school. Look who was his closest competition, Taylor Mayes. SO FAR one was a lock for Rookie of the Year, before injury, the other hasn't been mentioned since. Monte needed EB, EB didn't need Monte...FACT.

We are some optimistic and Hungry fans.......
We get a hint that somebody may come and the thread blows up.

I LOVE IT!!!

Thanks Skeeter, I'm a follower.

A blind follower, but a follower.

I read Robert Nkemdichie is announcing his school today, May 18. If he says UT I'm gonna flip. Timing is perfect, he says UT is "deff top school", Skeeter posts this, and now he is announcing. Coincidence? Probably. I can dream though.

Nation's top recruit Robert Nkemdiche ready to select college

Nkemdiche is not announcing today. That article is from 2 months ago. Things have changed in those 2 months, and I believe that he will not announce until the UA All-American game. Plus, Skeeter said it was somewhat of an under the radar type of guy...I don't believe the #1 recruit in the country in all recruiting services is under the radar.

No that would be your response to my opinion. Contrary to your opinion you aren't the all knowing......:peace2:

You are right Monte screwed this kid. His draft stock was demolished by the old man. I mean pick 8?! What a shaft.

Were you thinking of Yannick (not going to attempt the last name)? Based on the quotes that came out today from Rivals, it's not him.

I have no idea who it is at this point.

I'll throw this name out there...Darius Latham. What do you guys think? Although he is a 4 star, he isn't ranked in the top 250. He only has a small amount of offers from big-time programs, and most of those are recruiting him as an OL. We are one of the few recruiting him to play DL. And I believe he may be trying to visit in the next few weeks?? With his offer list and not ranked, he would be considered under the radar.

I think the recruit is expected to play linebacker here though. Could be wrong though. This thread has become one big clustermuck. Like a game of telephone or something.

Ha! So true. We could spend all day guessing and justifying each guess. We probably should just sit back and see who it is next week.

He was already a top pick before the arrival of the full Monte. Why don,t you move to Cali so your can be closer to your hero.... Your last name Kiffin?

Berry went 5th. Monte didn't misuse him because of his lack of picks. Berry needed to be in the box more because of our front seven play. He took full advantage of his skill set.

little nugget of truth:
Ndamukong Suh was ROY in EB's 1st season receiving 48 of the 50 possible votes. Devin McCourty got the other 2 votes. EB got hurt in his second season. I'll agree he was a top 5 pick before Monte Kiffin, i think he was projected #1 actually by Mel Kiper....

as for this mystery recruit id call it a Volnation placebo used to stir up interest.

i just wasted 5 minutes reading all this Miss Cleo nonsense. fool me once shame on you, fool me eleventy billion times shame on me.

*wronger.

Ah Billie the kid not Kidd to the rescue. Tell you what I have followed Tn for a long time. As I said earlier I have no respect for Monte. He assumed a defense built by Tony Dungy and got credit for being the Mastermind. You cannot say anything to change my perspective on him and I can't change some others. That's fine but when jerks start making personal attacks about my opinion just because it's not the same as theirs I will form my own opinion of them.

So billy are you simply a follower of the In crowd or do you on occasion have an original thought even if it isn't praised by the in crowd? :salute:
