EB was moved to safety as soon as he started at UT. He came out of HS as a CB. He was moved there because he was the best we had at the time.
EB would have been drafted in the first 10 picks regardless of Monte or if he played CB or S.
Monte Kiffin takes a phone call from a NFL exec and tells them he is one of the best he has ever coached.
I think that might have a positive result on a players draft location. EB was great here at UT but an NFL legendary DC backing the kid sure didn't hurt with his high draft pick.
I read Robert Nkemdichie is announcing his school today, May 18. If he says UT I'm gonna flip. Timing is perfect, he says UT is "deff top school", Skeeter posts this, and now he is announcing. Coincidence? Probably. I can dream though.
Nation's top recruit Robert Nkemdiche ready to select college
Were you thinking of Yannick (not going to attempt the last name)? Based on the quotes that came out today from Rivals, it's not him.
I have no idea who it is at this point.
I'll throw this name out there...Darius Latham. What do you guys think? Although he is a 4 star, he isn't ranked in the top 250. He only has a small amount of offers from big-time programs, and most of those are recruiting him as an OL. We are one of the few recruiting him to play DL. And I believe he may be trying to visit in the next few weeks?? With his offer list and not ranked, he would be considered under the radar.
I think the recruit is expected to play linebacker here though. Could be wrong though. This thread has become one big clustermuck. Like a game of telephone or something.
NO NFL Exec worth answering the phone for would have called to ask. EB was a once in a generation player.. at any school. Look who was his closest competition, Taylor Mayes. SO FAR one was a lock for Rookie of the Year, before injury, the other hasn't been mentioned since. Monte needed EB, EB didn't need Monte...FACT.
*wronger.
