Didn't take Freeze long to start poaching players

Bama kid. Not a surprise. Tide didn't make him a priority but Auburn and a known head coach and Freeze was next best thing. Kinda expect any recruit from that state to be a hard pull if either in state SEC school comes calling.
Which means he is probably soft on the back end. Not that there’s wrong with that.

Hope not. Guarantee Auburn has someone coming back too. If he flipped because of the decision made by a 5th year senior from a team who’s starting QB has hung around 2 years after losing the job then he’s missing the point with our culture.
There are some really good players that we don’t need.

When did the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? And, what does this have to do with recruiting?
First sentence is a line from a classic comedy that you're probably not old enough to know...Second sentence means that nothing s over until the letter of intent is signed and recieved by Auburn.

if that kid wants to play for Freeze instead of Heupel let him go.

Well, in today's environment as much as it might hurt. We need to wish them well and move on. If Auburn has and its possible a losing or a bland season, he could be in the portal soon. So, first thing pops into his mind is UT treated me great and look how great that program is doing. Burning bridges these days is a nonstarter IMO.

Would like to have landed him but it's not really as big of a deal as it once was - you can pick up experienced players looking for a better situation every year in the portal.

Yep., just keep a door open to relationships let them go through growing pains at other schools when their freshmen, then come in the portal and offer when they are getting ready (strength & conditioning etc..) to see the field.
