Did History Repeat Itself Today?

Way too fast. I could have never pulled up Volnation, while driving, on my Motorola StarTAC.

I had about a million cell phones during that time. Loved my first one that was just mine when I was 16 and my parents got it for me because of driving around. Was a Nokia and was about the size of a brick. Battery would last about 5 days in a full charge. No texting of course. Now 10 yr olds have texting plans and cell phones...crazy

Man...bringing back some memories. Time changes fast. Now I can pull a song onto my iPhone in about 5 seconds. Of course I have to pay for it

Or, you could YouTube it, and listen for free, even though it's not DL'd for good, but still. Got to love iPhones.

Well add me to the list of posters that started tread about something that didn't happen. I swear I remember it but I am old enough to worry that my mind might be failing me.

Believe it or not. I do not know what to think. This is coming from a very reliable source. It is rumored that Phillip Fulmer has a grad student that works in the athletic department pregnant. He is due to resign at the end of the year.

Not that anybody really cares but I had to prove to myself that I am sane. This was from Dec 2003.

I was online before most of you were born. The 90's were the glory days of the internet, it was young, wild and free, it was back before the government was involved and most people had enough sense not to put their real name on the interwebs.

Hell yeah. I miss those days

OMG... this thread needed a babysitter back in 2000... Hahaha... I was 18 and don't really remember much from then. I was probably hammered with a bunch of people hitting on chicks at college park. lol

Well see, there you go, thumbs up to you for finding it, whether there was anything to it or not!

Wait till all the young whippersnappers here discover how shaky memory can be.

Basillio started that rumor. There was a press conference called for that day and Tony said from what I have been told Coach Fulmer is stepping down. I remember calling my dad and saying why now. All my friends tuned in and all I dont even remember the abnnouncement was how trivial the matter was. It was the season that the Carolina Panthers called to see if Phil would ever consider coaching in the NFL. So callers were speculating he was headed to Carolina.

I remember that but not a whole lot..
I am sure its spreads much easier today. My vague memory is that the AD announced in the morning a press conference that caught every body by surprise and in a matter of hours PF had impregnated a student in the football office. Obviously that wasn't true but I was just hoping somebody here would know exactly what happened that day.

I tuned in as well expecting the worst but remember the pregnant intern rumor being the reason it was happening. TonyB: the more thing change the more they stay the same. He was surprisingly absent from the festivities yesterday unless I missed him chiming in.

Thanks for sharing your memory of that day. At a point last night I was sure I had made it all up when no poster could recall it.

I'm 34 and still throw tantrums when we lose to anyone. They are just not as bad as those days. :)

Why am I not surprised this had something to do with Basilio?

Today was quit a roller coaster ride without a doubt. Before I followed this site or any others, I remember a day I believe in the early 2000's where an internet rumor ran rough shot about Fulmer resigning. All sorts of stories were out there about PF. Anybody that followed online that day, share with us what it was like that day and if it was anything like today.

It happened. Seems like it was around 2003.

There was a press conference called re some benign topic and the Internet lit up. I can remember hearing Dan Patrick on his radio show saying they were trying to sort out the rumors.
