Did History Repeat Itself Today?

It happened. Seems like it was around 2003.

There was a press conference called re some benign topic and the Internet lit up. I can remember hearing Dan Patrick on his radio show saying they were trying to sort out the rumors.

It was 2003. The oltimers must have been in bed when I posted this last night. I thought I was just another poster that posted something that posted something that didn't happen.

Well see, there you go, thumbs up to you for finding it, whether there was anything to it or not!

Wait till all the young whippersnappers here discover how shaky memory can be.

Truer words have never been spoken.

As one who is working on my second half century, I have found the following.

1. I only remember about half of what I did, and

2. Half of what I do remember people tell me never happened.

But I wake up to a brand new world every morning ! :dance2:

GBO !

Clay was all giddy over the Da'Rick news yesterday

Amen brother amen. I went into the bathroom last night and when I got there I couldn't remember why I went there. So then I figured...well, it must be one of two options...

Well that explains why most of the VN posters are so irrational and hot headed. It's full of youngins.

I remember the rumor being that he was going to resign because he had gotten an assistant pregnant or something... Someone gave the rumor to a local news station and they reported it (I believe in Nashville) and then it spread like wildfire for 24-48 hrs.

Well add me to the list of posters that started tread about something that didn't happen. I swear I remember it but I am old enough to worry that my mind might be failing me.

There was something I remember hearing that his wife wanted him to step down about that time because she felt he had nothing left to prove or something like that. I don't think he ever had intention of doing so at that time. Beside why would he in 2000 he had a gold mine that was getting bigger. I remember Todd Blackwidge saying in 99 that this team is loaded with Talent if they don't win more than one title I will be surprised. Well we know how that went Cutcliff left, Fulmer got lazy, Richt and Saban moved in and Fulmer handed it right over to them. O well.
