Did anyone else notice the crowd boo’ing when JG went in the game?

That is disgraceful and pathetic. Regardless of what side of the fence you are on with JG, that man has sweat and bled for this program. He has put his body through absolute hell trying to win games. He was BM’s biggest fan and first level of support Saturday.

Everyone who was booing, screw you. JG deserves more respect right now than you ever will in your entire lifetime.

I could not tell on TV but, if true, no class on the part of those who did. Maurer had to come out. I will admit I have not been a fan of JG as a QB. I think we have seen his best and it is not what we need. But he went in, did his best and made a great play. I was actually a little surprised CJP did not leave him in for a few plays after that 3rd down completion.

I didn't notice but that is awful. I'm have probably been one of his biggest critics over the last couple of years but that is not acceptable.

Agree. Per my comment in the other similar thread, this was disgraceful. How many of the ‘heroes’ in the stands would stayed in the ground after JGs first big hit. Invite Hamilton, Kiffin, Butch and others to the field and boo them as loud as you want but never boo the kids who are trying their best.

I was at the game and personally I did not hear that but if it took place that is absolutely the most disgusting thing in sports to boo a young man like that !

Nope. Then again, my wife constantly tells me that I'm oblivious and clueless. Do I get a pass?

I didn't like that, and I'm definitely not on the JG train.

I didn't like the booing. I didn't know Maurer was shook up at the time and hated to see jg come in the game. But I am totally against the booing, I think Maurer is a much better qb, but I have no doubt that jg has given everything he has for ut, he doesn't deserved to be booed.

Probably not a good look, but I'd place the blame on the athletic department. The result over that past decade along with getting a peek of how dysfunctional the athletic department runs during the last coaching search, has forever disgruntled part of the fan base.

How do you blame anyone but yourself when you show your ass toward a kid?

That brings up an interesting point.

I wasn't at the game but got several txts about Pruitt putting him in the game. (None of them including me knew BM was dinged up at the time). Makes you wonder if the venom was directed at Pruitt rather than the QB.

And there it is!

Yeah he did better than I thought for the first half but you could tell he was instructed to throw the ball out of bounds by the coaches this game. They didn't want him throwing into triple coverage. I guess that's progress. Lol

When your receivers are covered, and you have no other option thats what the qb is supposed to do, not stand there and get sacked. And when he had even a small window to throw the football, he did not throw out of bounds, he threw for the small window.

This is on CJP... Him being adamant that JG will play has EVERYONE on edge. The booing was ridiculous, but CJP needs to quit stirring the pot, name Maurer the starter and let it be.

There what is? Does it really matter?

I was agreeing with him....it matters to me because Pruitt is an adult...JG is still a kid. If there's the smallest crack to boo Pruitt there is a lot who will take advantage of it.

Yea, it is very possible they were booing Pruitt, I just don't think it matters at all. If they are booing Pruitt 1) JG doesn't know that. 2) if they're booing Pruitt its because he's putting JG in.

We may be saying the same thing just differently.

It’s a fair point. I had the same thought, but I think it comes across as booing JG regardless
+1

Sure, people may want to boo coaching decisions (maybe before seeing why they were made), but a boo is pretty general and is always going to look as if it were aimed at players.

I don’t think there’s a way to specifically aim boos.

I think people didn't realize Maurer was hurt and that is why JG was brought in. They simply thought Pruitt was swapping QBs and the fans were booing Pruitt for giving up on Maurer.
I wasn't paying attention, close enough to make that kind of a call, I will defer to you on this, and thanks. I will say booing any of our players, or any of the staff, or our HC during a game, is deplorable. There is not now, nor has there ever been, nor will there ever be room for this type of behavior by Vols in Neyland. nuff said.

They may have just shown the final score for AU/UF.
