Did anyone else notice the crowd boo’ing when JG went in the game?

The anti-JG and Pruitt people swear they ain't going to the games. Then they show up for this. Just sayin'.
That brings up an interesting point.

I wasn't at the game but got several txts about Pruitt putting him in the game. (None of them including me knew BM was dinged up at the time). Makes you wonder if the venom was directed at Pruitt rather than the QB.

I couldn't figure it out whe I heard it. Too many PBRs I reckon. Now another poster said it was GA fans booing an official. Could actually just be the timing. Heck, I still don't know.

I agree 100% - that was horrible for all kinds of reasons (including this is the last thing recruiting prospects should see).

Victim mentality. Your behavior is someone else’s fault. No class is no class period.
LOL, I didn't boo him. It's not a victim mentality at all. It's football people. The fact that people make a big deal over how someone else feels about a football team is laughable. If you want to degrade someone over feeling some type of way about a football team, have at it.

Probably not a good look, but I'd place the blame on the athletic department. The result over that past decade along with getting a peek of how dysfunctional the athletic department runs during the last coaching search, has forever disgruntled part of the fan base.
You can blame the athletic department for disgruntled fans, but I don’t believe that’s an excuse for booing a kid like JG who stood in there every game last year knowing he was going to get his head knocked off repeatedly, but did it anyway.

No way man, im one of the most outspoken against the ad and cjp and the current direction of the program on this board. I would never boo a player, especially for going in the game. This is a personal choice, not the fault of the ad.
I place the blame for everything related to Tennessee football squarely on the shoulders of the athletic department. By the way, I didn't boo him. Do I think it's right? No. Am I going to browbeat fans for booing or expressing displeasure over the state of the football team? Absolutely not.

That is disgraceful and pathetic. Regardless of what side of the fence you are on with JG, that man has sweat and bled for this program. He has put his body through absolute hell trying to win games. He was BM’s biggest fan and first level of support Saturday.

Everyone who was booing, screw you. JG deserves more respect right now than you ever will in your entire lifetime.
Screw you! When they stop charging those prices for tickets, I will care about his feelings and change my mind on what is acceptable for fans to convey at games.

It’s a fair point. I had the same thought, but I think it comes across as booing JG regardless

I'd say this is more likely. Pruitt said on SEC nation that JG would play. People pitched a fit over that as well.

There are players and yes coaches that are on the receiving end of a lot of venom right now that has built up over a decade.

Spot on. No need for that. Very childish.

JG has anything to do with the ticket prices? The kid chose to put on the Orange and White, regardless of how he's performed, he doesn't deserve **** like that.

Are you sure of this? I'd say Maurer could of went in that series. After the big hit, no way.
Of course not. That’s why I typed probably. Or meant to without the typo. 😬

Thinking about it, he might have played. The offense was struggling in the second half. But it was clear Maurer was the focal point. Just like today in his press conference, there isn’t much doubt who the quarterback is right now.

I had a moment until I realized BM had to come out. Lol.

It wasn't really a reaction to Pruitt saying he would play, but more the idea that once BM started to struggle they were going to have a quick hook. In the end, it was all for naught.

I wanted to boo from the recliner but felt like it would be wasted since I was the only one home.

I’m just saying, your post came across as “I’m against it but I’m ok with it.”
i'm for people doing whatever they want to in this life. Who am I to say how someone should feel or act.

Booing JG or any Vol wearing the Orange is not cool. Should never happen. JG may not be the most talented QB in the world but the kid busts his axx to win.

I wish that Chaney had called the game more like he did in the 1st half. I thought more RPO's were called. Maybe there were, I don't know. I would've called some type of RPO every down. It seemed to be working well.
