Destiny

Micro-transactions coming Tuesday, only for cosmetic purposes.

Only for cosmetic purposes for now. I've seen how Activision works with RNG and micro-transactions.

They'll start with shaders and gun skins, eventually they'll be offering just about everything for a low price.

These dudes are ruthless with the money grab.

If it goes that route I am done with Destiny. Once, they start where you go buy motes, upgrades, and weapons, peace out.

I don't have a problem with them selling dance moves and other crap that doesn't affect the game.

But, I'm like kwebb....I'm not going to pay for the game and expansions and then pay more like it's a free to play game model on top.

It's coming. I imagine you'll be able to pay for upgrades, engram packages, sparrows, ships, etc.

With CoD:AW, Activision implemented a similar loot system that Destiny has, supply drops that are totally random. Completly luck based, for those not lucky enough to get the very best weapons needed to compete they could buy supply drops. These varied from 1 drop that cost $1.99 and contained a whopping 3 items to drops that cost $30+. All with zero guarantee.

Go back before the release of TTK, how many people without the Ghorn would have more than willingly paid for it? They cold have easily sold it for 5.99 and made a killing.

Now apply that across the board.

this is why i am not big on any competitive multiplayers. some people take it way to seriously which makes it impossible for me to just have fun with it.

Everything about how this game was handled seems like a money grab and it wouldn't surprise me if in the next year there are microtransactions to buy gear/materials.

They won't do it all at once, but I think comestic changes are just a start.

Did some of the Raid last night........Got the the boss after the second jump puzzle and then had to go to bed........pretty fun stuff so far.

Played with a guy last night and ran two nightfalls, he paid for the new dance moves. 20$ got him a dance move for all three characters, a couple year one exotics that don't translate to year two and shaders.

Me and and my friend noticed him doing the MC Hammer dance and thought it was funny, after he told us what he paid and what he got, we laughed even harder.

I imagine there are many people who.just paid 20$ for the exact same crap.

Yea, I don't get it either. He paid half the game cost of TTK for some dance moves. Maybe in his head he's going to get 20 bucks of laughs out of it, but I wouldn't spend $1.

If asked I would have thought they would have been fairly cheap for something so insignificant. 2 bucks. 3 bucks. Never would have I guessed 20. Didn't think Bungie/Activision would go that greedy.

so has the Agnorach rune been fully nuked? I finally charged it, legit, and it won't accept it. Read up and saw some guys were messing with and that Bungie had pulled it temporarily but figured it would be back by now.

and speaking of runes that is the only one I have found beyond the court of oryx. have they pulled all of them for similar reasons?

Ran the raid twice Saturday night with my Hunter.
Got your normal drops from chest's and finishing raid.
Didn't have another character strong enough to run a 2nd raid,
so ran it again with my Hunter. Got a bunch of engrams, several blue,
3 legendary, and 1 exotic. The exotic was 310 gauntlets.

Worked on my Titan yesterday, got him to 291 light.
Got Warlock to 274 light.
Now I can run 2 characters in raid, hopefully all 3 by the end of the week.

How far did your team get?

Pretty sure he joined us at Oryx one night. We tried for an hour or so but then called it quits. We were close, but after awhile people were tired, ammo running out, etc. It just wasn't going to happen with that group at that time.

Strange some groups struggle there, some it just seems to work. It's just a matter of everyone learning what to do. If you can get the platform holders to understand only 3 need to jump and the 4th needs to help in middle on Ogres, it's not too bad.

Also, if you're ever in a group and you aren't doing damage during bombs, make sure someone keeps shooting Oryx the whole time. If not, his chest will close and some/all bombs may not count.

It's all about timing, hopefully when all 4 bombs go off all get back to the middle to damage Oryx.
Every round he goes down 25% max if the team does everything right.

I made it to warpriest and had to leave on a weeknight with one group........jumped in with you guys at Oryx after UGA game.......we just couldnt do it.......tryed warpriest cp one other time and still didnt beat him.........the rest of the time it is hard to get a team together.......I hate trying to get 6 randoms together from the community.....I think a couple of my pals who have been thru will run it again tonight or tomm night.... hopefully I can make it thru.......I only have 1 exotic weapon so far.....sleeper stimulant

ran a heroic strike, I hadn't before, last night. Psonic Flayers. guess it finally unlocked from PS4 exclusive.
