Destiny

Did first couple secions of the raid tonight. None of us had watched videos.

Good times. I don't think we got to the really tough stuff yet but figuring out the first couple puzzles was fun.

I beat Oryx once. wasn't as climatic as I thought. Was pissed that was it, then all the other quest lines opened up and I was like holy crap, this should have happened first. Felt like you got to Oryx way too fast.

Okay. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Oryx came waaay too fast (TWSS). Wasn't really that difficult either.

Update, got to Oryx and beat him today. I'm not one to set elitist standards for raids (I love doing them with lower levels) but until alternative avenues are found currently I don't recommend you attempt with more than 1 person under 295 light in your group. You have to throw a ton of DPS at him to stagger him so he doesn't kill the whole team and it has to be done in about 5 seconds. Not hard if you have a great squad with good high em pact snipers, but under leveled and bad secondaries will make or break a team this early in the game.

Anybody else having trouble getting legendary marks? I played about 10 different crucible matches this weekend and got nothing, different match types, various rankings and nothing. some of the missions offer them, but the most dependable way has been to breakdown legendary weapons so far, but that gives so little it takes a long time.

Finally got to run some of the Court of Oryx last night. Group of guys with a lot higher light was running it and I joined in. They didn't have low level runes, which is all I had, so instead of waiting for the cool down we did some of mine. that was pretty fun. just had to hide on some of the 300 light ones, or just try to be respawn boy. picked up a couple good/decent items.

We got to the Warpriest Saturday night, I believe that's his name......I was only a 267 light. As a team we didn't have the weapons to take him down in time. We only had one person over 290 light.
Now I'm 290 light and everyone else is over 290, hopefully we can get further in the raid, hopefully to the end....
:hi:

At higher light levels they will be a little more frequent, the daily story and daily crucible will give you 15 a piece, a heroic strike per day will give you 15 more and breaking down legendary taken king armor will also give you some. Certainly not fast but you really shouldn't be using too many marks, once you hit around 275 light find a group to run you to gorgoloth in the raid and do heroic stokes over and over, the longer you stay in matchmaking the better chance you have for good rewards.

Just for the hell of it I created a Warlock and started from Level 1. I really like the way they integrated the other two DLCs to flow with the main game.

thanks, I am still 220 light level. Got tired of crucible, I was just getting one shot the whole night and only kills came with grenades. I have been running the court of oryx as I mentioned before. Finally at the point where every piece of rare equipment is not better than what I have. Right now I am being held back by weapons. they are all at 200, while armor is pretty much at 245.

I don't understand why they don't have matchmaking for all the raids and game versions. really hinders those of us without a lot of friends online who play the game.

Play some strikes.....you get good rewards for playing those and play multiple ones in a row for better chance of good drops.....

Got my 310 Black Spindle and a 290 Hereafter, it's the only 2 exotic weapons I have but I'll take them.
Getting that Black Spindle was a grind.
We basically put 2 on the boss and 1 on the Adds.
Got my Hereafter in the Nightfall......

Did Raid last night, we got to final area or mission.
Took us about 3 hours to get to last mission.
We received 5 chest's total so far, 2 were after missions and 3 were hidden...
The guys I play with knew exactly where these chest were and what to do to get them...

So far all I've received is moldering shards, worm-spore and a 302 light...
Some of the other guys got armor, and I believe 1 person got a 305 auto-rifle
Hopefully we can get through the end and get some good drops...

We are at the Daughters Of Oryx......

So the little lady surprised me by buying me this, haven't played much since the Crota expansion, a lot has changed. I beat the story with one character but it looks like there is still a lot to do after that. Not quite ready to do the weekly stuff. I think I'm about a 240 or so. Like that playing the strike list isn't just a mundane act. Hurts seeing some of those weapons being reduced to crap. G horn and icebreaker specifically.

so is there any reason whatsoever to keep any of the year one weapons?

Hard to say goodbye. Feel sorry for the guys that grinded for a year to get a g horn and never got it or got it right before it was turned into a artifact.

finally figured out the benefit on infusing stuff. Still seems weird that I am finding a lot of rare equipment that is better than legendary or exotic equipment.

at 283 light and finally slogged through most of the quests after oryx. now i just have to find a team, and the time to run the Kings Fall mission. I find myself just hanging out on the Dreadnaught at the Court running that a lot.

We ran through the first two pars of the raid last night. It was fun but difficult. I think they did a good job with the raid. It really takes teamwork to get through it. Also, I wouldn't try Kings Fall until u get to 290.

Me and friend were running around the Dreadnought last night and stumble on the Court of Oryx, the boss must deny or be able to flip what element damages him because I continually got "immune" popping up.

Three of Coins is pretty cool, I just bought one set and then we grinded out 5 straight strikes, got 5 legnedaries and two exotics.

Yet to attempt the raid but so far I'm impressed by the depth of the game, this is what it should have been from the jump. Game lacked so much substance. They've redeemed themselves some with this expansion.

Another cool thing is that there are so many weapons and armor and shades that not everyone looks the same. I know that's petty but almost everyone had the same loadouts and looked exactly the same.

We ran the Court of Oryx last night, I think there were 8 of us, we all were in party chat, everyone of us had Antiquated Rune, I think that's how you spell it.... We ran it 8 times, got legendary Engram drops, blue drops. I think I had a total of 25 drops. Some were at post master...
I recommend before doing this to be at least 290 light and have at least 6 players. Helps to be in party chat.

finally ran the last tier of the court of oryx a couple times. was fun playing with people who actually understand what is going on. there were four and five of us. and in between the final levels we did some lower level stuff and that was laughable.

there are still several of the side/mini quests i need to do on the dreadnaught, finding the different runes for different chests and what not.

also, am I the only one just now figuring out the invisible bridges in the dreadnaught? Pull up your ghost and it highlights the location. now its not trial and error and I hardly die from that now, lol.

Ran raid Sunday night and got past the Daughters of Oryx, all that was left was the boss,
we didn't finish :(
We will start again tonight or tomorrow night....
Did get a 300 cape for my Hunter from the Daughters of Oryx....
Some other guys received weapons.....
