Hope you got at least a few 30s. 28s and 29s just don't do enough damage in Hard Mode to made it through.
If you play it safe and only go down on the templar section when all 3 confluxes appear (and hide during legions and shoot oracles from the top), you can probably get to the Gatekeeper and Atheon area. However, that's where you are going to struggle. You really need a couple 30s to handle the relic and maxed weapons to help grab those relics.
Want to plan some time this week? Wednesday night after 9:30 or so and Friday after lunch are the times I'll be available. But if you want to plan ahead another time I will see what I can do.
Wed 9:30-10 start is great with me. I'll tag along.
EDIT: Good chance I might be able to do it Tuesday but it would probably be later. Depends what time I get home.
But, I'm thinking I don't need to run it 3 times this week. I'm fine if you run one or two without me.
Shards were no big deal before this patch. Even less so afterward. I had 70 shards in my vault waiting to get more exotic gear. The only legendary armor I've had to upgrade the past 2 months has been Iron Banner armor.
Does anyone get anything at the postmaster for public events anymore? I did 4 public events with two different characters today and all I got was a mote of light upon completion. Nothing at post master for first PE.
Didn't manage to get the whole group together for a hard raid, but 4 of us found two people with the Atheon checkpoint on hard. Both were 29s and they must have been playing with 30s that carried them through. One guy was clueless. At one point we were in the relic holder's shield shooting at Atheon, and the guy throws down his Titan bubble ruining that opportunity.
I'm surprised we beat Atheon, but we did with one level 30 and five 29s. Probably around the 20th try. We were about to quit. And what did I get? Another stupid sparrow. 3 people got helmets, one got Vex Mythoclast.
Have't played today yet, but my buddy said they put in a patch today. Buffed exotics, something with ascendant material drops on public events, and no more knocking the templar off in the raid.
I had never fought the Templar until I tried doing a run this morning. Seems pretty simple, we had a good strategy just a bunch of numbskulls couldn't follow through.
Staying near the back oracles (away from teleport spots) has been a good strategy we've been using. If you can't shoot the oracles because of where the templar is there are plenty of hiding spots for everyone to get cleansed
